Looking for a replacement shaft for my Huebler Chess Cue.
I know back in the day Huebler use to sell replacement shafts with a standard black ring.
Curious if a couple of them are floating around out there and if someone is willing to part with one.

Is Huebler the only cue maker that used the 5/16-18 nylon inserts?

No, there have been others.

Meucci used them back in the mid 1970's. And I believe Biaggio used them on some cues, imports, not the Joss made Biaggio cues. Maybe others.

But nylon inserts are unusual. Few have used them. It is very much a Huebler Thing IMHO.

It can be replicated. At least one supplier I know stocked the inserts recently, and of course a cue maker could make them.

You can use brass inserts.

If you really want original then only Huebler will do.

I suppose any good cuemaker could replicate Huebler's taper as well as the insert.

I was curious, because I have a 5/16"-18 shaft that has a nylon insert in it, so I thought maybe it was a Huebler shaft. Is there any other way to know if it's a Huebler shaft?

I am not sure. If somebody knows the original taper well enough, and the shaft still has the original taper, that might tell. But it would need to be measured accurately at multiple points.

And if it has a decorative ring that matches a Huebler, that would tell.

Post good pics in the main forum and see if we can figure it out.

I'll give it a try.

I can't seem to post the pictures Doc. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm not sure if it's a shaft you'd be interested in, but I listed it on eBay. It does have a nylon insert, so it may be a Heubler shaft.

I listed the shaft on eBay with some pictures.
