Mosconi 2017 - Updates

I got banned from Facebook chat window for Mosconi Cup. The Facebook said I was typing too fast. They think I am a bot. I can't believe this.

I'm not watching, but yes, if that's what happened, that's a totally different situation indeed. Totally classless by Filler to celebrate with your teammates BEFORE going over to shake your opponent's hand. Shaking your opponent's hand IS THE VERY FIRST THING YOU MUST DO as soon as soon as you pocket the match winning 9-ball - then you can celebrate the victory with your teammates. In that situation, I don't blame Hatch one bit for what he did. I would say that following that, the emotions for all players will now be amped to an even higher level than they already were!

Those of you who can’t watch consider yourselves lucky, this pool will make your eyes bleed it’s so bad. That said, USA up 2-0.

Unless Filler did something disrespectful to Hatch during the match, there is absolutely no excuse for Hatch not shaking his opponent's hand. It's fine to be competitive and want to win badly, but really?

Watching it live, I'd say that Josh went into gamesmanship zone for a few racks, then put an exclamation on it by going to his teammates before shaking Dennis's hand.

I'm not saying Dennis is right, but Josh was pushing it.

The commentators at one stage said the corner pockets were 4.25 inches...that's what everyone (well some) claimed they wanted for pro tournaments ;-)

Not sure they actually are 4.25 inches though...

Not just missed shots. Some fairly bad position plays leading to tough shots.

Good safe by Souquet had SVB kicking at the 4. He hit it and almost made the 9 hanging. NVB sunk the 4-9 carom. 2-2

If they are indeed 4.25" corner pocket mouths and I'm assumming 4.75" side pocket mouths, that's excellent for this event. Yes, that is what the pros should be playing on all the time - No "sloppy" shots will be accepted!

True, but it must be really tough (even for pro's) to come out cold onto a TV table and play without the chance to get any rhythm.

It seemed quite a few players (on both sides) were struggling with the speed of the cloth and the cushions.

SVB made a ridiculous shot on the 1. Oscar missed a fairly makeable 2. NVB made the 2 but trying to open up the 5 hooked Ralph on the 4. USA butchered a rather doable run. Left Europe super tough on the 7. Ralph made a crazy tough cut on the 7 & Euro’s get out up 3-2.
