HUGE Action match Day 3 Gabe Owen vs Danny Smith

I'm cool with that!
But, that leads to another question... at what point does the streamer find that $25 for a two week (or however long) match becomes a money looser?
Can't really answer that lot peeps just buy a day pass thinking it would end that day and then repeat the next day lol and new people watch the longer it goes too.

I Think the next longest action match PoolActionTV has streamed was Scott Frost vs Alex Pagulayan they played a big one pocket match in Vegas a couple of years ago that went 5 days.

I don't know about 9-8 or 8-7 but....

Judging from the way this match has developed, this spot must be the fairest one in pool history....

Right! Couldn't get much more even.
Looks like that .68724 of a ball was spot on, although my math could be a little off (didn't carry the one)!

It'd be pretty cool if they decided to just reduce the race to 5 ahead and jack the bet another 10K, and Gabe doesn't miss another shot and drills the Shredder to the wall.. :-)

They made the game so right it's way outta line.
No matter how long this goes the $25 match pass is good. If anyone has bought any passes this month PoolAction TV will credit it to the 6 month pass if you decide to buy one of those.

9-8 is considered more than 1/2 a ball, almost a ball.

Well, at least you understand there is a difference between 9-8 and 8-7. If anyone doesn't think so try asking some good One Pocket players which game they would prefer to give or receive. 8-7 has always been considered a full ball spot and 9-8 a somewhat lesser spot! 10-8 is closer to 8-7 weight-wise if that helps to explain this.

Well that’s great but most knowledgeable 1pocket players (and statistical analysis) would show you wrong. It’s a small but sophisticated differentiation.

Lou Figueroa

Sorry Lou, but this only proves to me that you are NOT a "knowledgeable" One Pocket player, as you purport to be. There IS a significant difference between 9-8 and 8-7!

As an example of the difference a half ball makes, when Ronnie Allen was the best One Pocket player, he could give Jersey Red or Ed Kelly 9-8 and beat either one of them. If he increased that spot to 9-8 on their break and 8-7 on his break he didn't win! A minute adjustment in the spot but it was telling.

Around the middle (8 Balls required) it's pretty linear. 7-8 is a bigger spot than 8-9 by about 10%. On the edges it get's huge. I would much rather get 4-8 as opposed 8-12.

In a classic sense give a ONE BALL SPOT is 7-8 because I need to make one fewer balls to win. 8-9 I still need to make 8 obviously. Therefore my effort to win is the same as a unhandicapped game.

As always Jay is correct...Jay is never wrong. Somebody should put that on a t-shirt. Lou is also somewhat correct that it's almost a ball spot from a rounding error point of view....but as always Jay is more correct. Print another T-shirt.

Thanks Nick, I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but I have been around the best One Pocket players the last 40-50 years (even played a few) and have seen the way matches were handicapped. I just don't like someone putting misinformation out there. I beat a couple of decent players in my life getting 8-7 that I wouldn't consider playing with 9-8!

Danny caught a gear up 5
