So just for a random conversation I wanted to rate the 5 best US players on a 9ft table vs a Barbox in my opinion. I would be curious to see how my ratings match up to other peoples.

9ft

1) SVB
2) Justin Bergman
3) Mike Dechaine
4) Sky Woodward
5) Oscar Dominguez/Billy Thorpe

7ft

1) SVB
2) Sky Woodward
3) Justin Bergman
4) Billy Thorpe
5) Jesse Bowman

I am curious to know how many people think Jesse Bowman has the best of it against, say Corey Deuel or Rodney Morris on a bar box.

I’d bet on plenty of people against Jesse. No disrespect, he plays strong. But I think he’s outside the top 10 for sure.

Why put Sky in front of Oscar on the 9ft? Didn't they play a long race last year with Oscar winning handily?

Also, do you think that Oscar or Skyler can beat Donnie Mills on a 9ft?

This would be my ranking:

1) SVB
2) SHAW
3) Dennis Ocollo
4) Sky Woodward
5) Mike Dechaine

7ft

1) SVB
2) Sky Woodward
3) Justin Bergman
4) Billy Thorpe
5) Corey Duel

Cant come up with a bar-box list it would be to long because according to AZers anyone can run out on a bar table.

FYI, the thread was titled best US players. Yes, we all know Shaw and Orcollo would be up there, as would a number of Asian players, if we're talking about best 9-ball players in the world.

Stan Torangeau on a 7 footer? I seems he always finishes real high in the USBTC, and the US Opens that were held on bar boxes

Since you mentioned Stan, I’ll throw in Glenn Atwell. Dude has some serious success on those little tables.

One cool aspect of pool is that for the most part any pro in the vicinity of top tier in the us could be on the list in the sense they could play 15 sets and have a 15 different results. Obviously Shane’s results make him a lock for the 1 spot on both. So the more realistic question should be after Shane, who are the top 5? So with Shane above or at the top my next 5 goes(and really order is irrelevant because I think they’re all so close)

9ft:
1. Justin
2. Mike D
3. Sky
4. Corey
5. Rodney
6. Oscar
7. Dennis/Billy
And if Donnie Mills devoted his life full time to pool he’s easily top 5 us big table 9 ball players

7ft
1. Sky
2. Justin
3. Billy
4. Mike D
5. Corey
6. Rodney/Dennis
7. Josh Roberts
8. Oscar

On 9 Footers:
You can make a bunch of arguments to include:
Hatch, Cory, Rodney...Mr. Archer and Mr. Strickland.

Shane Mcminn is a monster bar box player he always goes near the top in the huge calcuttas down south.

Shane seems to be often over looked when top Americans are mentioned he plays jam up on all tables too.
