Any feedback for Poison break cues?

I see that they have 3 piece cues for around $200.

Looks like same shaft as playing cues with different tip installed...?

I just got it last week. The VX4. It's pretty stout. The shaft feels really light. All the weight is on the forward part of the butt. I'm breaking like a maniac. I have to say, it's a winner and all my friends have liked it too.

I do feel like I can control the cueball and higher speed. Which is what I have been chasing. I did change the tip. Replaced it with a Samsara. 4.5 out 5 stars for me.

How does it compare to OB RIFT?

The OB Rift you feel the impact of ball and it's weight shift moving from forward to back is harder.

With the Poison you don't even feel the impact of the ball. Which is great. A lot of people have the tendency to slow down their stroke as soon as the feel contact. I honestly like it.

I like my rift for a long time, maybe I messed it up changing tips. The do make 2 different shafts for the Rift.

My buddy Gregg breaks very well and he had a poison vx a while back, well, two of them, actually.

Broke both of them during breaking both very similarly and at the joint and when we looked at it all we could figure was it sure looked like quite an undersized pin for a cue intended for big impact breaking.

Unless they have changed pins to something more stout, I would recommend against them.

It did seem to break real well though, except when the cue, itself, was actually breaking.

best,
