Here's a little old school Joss eye candy ;)

I'm not sure what the difference in age is between them but, the logos are all a little different. It would be cool to know the year/model number but, I can't find any old brochures -- guessing 1970's vintage!?

Incredibly nice. By the way, these are fairly early Joss cues, shall we say, possibly late 60s to early to mid 70s. I lean towards early to mid 70s.

To answer your question on model number, there was no such thing in that era. All Joss cues then were individually ordered, and custom.

They might not quite be original, in some aspects. Different wraps than original, and the two right cues look to have the more modern brown bumper than the KU bumper.

These are a part of cue history, when there were very few cuemakers doing excellent work. Very nice cues.

All the best,
WW

Oh yes, seventies cues.

The third logo could be late seventies or maybe a re-do, judging from how tidy the engraving is.

The first one is earlier than the second I think...but not 100% on that.

The logo got a little ugly when Stroud left as Janes was learning how to engrave it.

I agree on the wraps. And it does look like that middle bumper is a replacement and not a genuine KU.

Old Joss cues are one of the cues that I think merit an original KU, when you can find them. I have very few left as I recently traded a bunch of them. I am keeping what I have left.

These are really cool cues and I do hope that we hear something more about them.

I would also suggest that they get posted in the Block Letter Joss thread.

First cue is later 74+
Second cue is 71-72
Third cue is a re-do logo so it's undated now

Amazing how pretty cues can be with some simple billet work and basic drill and fill inlay. Those old Joss cues play solid as a rock (both Bill and Dan's)

Beautiful cues! Thanks for posting.

I've confirmed with Danny Janes that all three (3) of these cues were built by him. Bill Stroud dates them around 1974-75. The block letters were all done by hand which is why they all look a little different.

I believe all of these cues have been refinished; the brown bumpers are replacement bumpers; and, the Irish Linen is non-original too.

I've added pics of these three (3) cues to Monte's thread as well >>> https://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=202295
