May 24-27th EFREN!! - Buffalos Professional One Pocket $2000 Entry $10,000 Added

Anyone having second thoughts about DO being the best 1P player in the world?. The guy who use to have that title, often ran through fields of 300 in races to 3 and then might win the finals in 30 minutes with his opponent not making a single ball-except his!

I watched his match with Justin that went very late last night (3:30 AM there). Dennis had been playing since Noon that day and looked tired and weak at the end. He made several mental errors (along with a few surprising misses) that cost him the match. Justin looked a little tired himself. Neither one played great pool the last few games. Justin did run one 'eight and out' early in the match.

I think Alex,Tony, and Dennis are the three top One Pocket players in the world as of now. It's really hard to say who is the best between those three guys.If i had to pick one i would say Alex.

But there is a whole pack of guys that are right there close Danny Smith, Justin Hall,Francisco Bustamante, SVB are a few that come to mind.

Look at how close most of these matches were this week, with a field of sixteen top players. There is no Efren in One Pocket today, with T-Rex being the closest.

P.S. Once again JJ does a great job doing commentary, especially One Pocket. He really understands the complexities of the game and can quickly relate the merits of each shot to his audience. He was particularly good in the booth with Larry Schwartz, another One Pocket devotee. Larry sees things a little differently thanks to his Chicago background but he still knows good One Pocket when he sees it. He had the best line of the week when Efren came with a monster shot in his match against Dennis. "How can you retire when you're still making shots like that!" I loved that line. Thanks Larry

Terry posted at 8:51pm last night that the next match was at 12pm CST, and the bracket text says this as well..

Did something change?

One of the players, as he was getting back off the table, tripped over a cord connected to
some kind of device that had something to do with the stream.
:)

At closing last night (this morning) the start time was announced as 1pm central time -- about 30 min. from now.

... Justin did run one 'eight and out' early in the match.

With these tight pockets, it seems that runs of 1 are the coin of the realm. But Dennis ran 8 and out in Game 2. Justin had 7 and out in Game 4, 8 and out in Game 6, and 9 and out at hill/hill. The other 5 games were all 1 and out.

i just logged on to the website here is whats posted

Stream is live now from our brand new hot spot. It's been smooth as glass since changing over to it yesterday afternoon. We have abandoned Buffalo's internet fully.

Thank for all your patience. We know how frustrating it is when it doesn't work like it supposed to.

One pocket

Did Dennis switch cues mid tournament? Looked like a Revo last night but I don’t remember that in his earlier matches...

Lot of cash riding on these matches.

Winner here plays Tony in a true double elimination final and will have to beat him twice.
