Watched Feijen play Ekonomopoulos - $4k in Athens Greece. Early in the match Feijen had caught a gear and was up, glass of beer came through the air from somewhere and appeared to hit Feijen in the leg. Somebody came out and swept up the broken glass beer.

With Feijen there are extenuating circumstances because I think he just won a nice tournament there the day before and has an incentive to play good sport so he continued.

Would you have kept playing? You are in the other guy's home room. He is a high level player. That just happened to you. Keep going or get out of there?

That's completely nuts. I think I'd insist the room be cleared or cancel the match. What's wrong with folks.

I was thinking something along these lines as well. However, it would depend on the environment/venue.

Personally, I like when people watch me play, and to watch others play as well. It would be hard for me to punish an entire crowd over the actions of a single individual. Alternatively, as the OP said, if it were the other guys home room, and the entire crowd were in on the act or didn't seem to want to distance themselves from it, or the offending individual, I'd have a tough choice on my hands.

I like the level of professionalism in snooker when handling these kinds of incidents. I would look to have it handled like that. But ultimately, if it were me, and I was on the outs with the crowd, they'd either all be out, or I'd be done. I'm not going to risk a beer bottle to the side of the head.

If I were Feijen I would have said, "this match is over, this is not a safe environment." Then I would make sure to identify the person who assaulted me. Then at a later date in the near future, I would be sure to make a dangerous environment happen for this low life scum bag.

@poolhustler:

I thought I did have an avatar up. Let me take another look at the settings....

Edit: I uploaded it to the wrong spot. Hadn't noticed until you said something. I'm sure it's not exactly what you were expecting. Especially with a screen name like mine. :)

Look at post # 29 in this thread....I was sure Nick would not allow any funny business.
