What color felt is best?

Oyster! 🤮. I learned that from Alice cooper!

Ford....because they didn’t need bailing out and Chevy ain’t half the legend Ford is hands down.....they both make chit vehicles from time to time lol. (First car was a 65 Dodge Dart gt)

Someone sent me some great white while back and it’s great stuff and I concluded it’s not messy but players are and they should learn to chalk. 🤣

Omg downtown Lafayette la at “city bar” not sure if it’s still like that but they had black jack Daniels felt.....made me want to upchuck a gut ache looking at that mess

Not for a long time back when they made it from rabbits and rodents like beaver....but wool was always the best felt material as it doesn’t require the same processing.....rodent and rabbit felt made hats used mercury and where “mad hatter” came from

I keep telling people on here that standard Simonis Green and English Green are dark. Very dark. If you want a lighter shade of green you need to go with Apple Green.

Granted lights can make pics seem different but in person Simonis Green and English Green are way too dark for me.

You don't happen to know if the Apple Green is available in 860HR? According to their website, it is not.
 
When I get my Olhausen recovered (in the near future, I hope) I'll probably go with Tournament Blue. Currently has Simonis 860 Green.
 
Not a big fan of the Tournament Blue. I find it harder to play on than Green. I remember there being a study done at one point on cloth colors and it was determined that gold was actually the best cloth color to play on. I know that Mosconi late in his career only wanted to play on gold cloth. No right answer get what you like best.

That said my friend has a really dark green hunter green type cloth and I am not a fan at all.

Also go Siminos. It is worth it in the end.

Simonis gold and camel are both great colors to play on - the balls show up really well. Only problem for a poolroom is that too many people with their own cues have blue chalk on their cues, and particularly these days they carry their own personal blue chalk with their chalk holders. Blue chalk marks discolor the camel / gold cloth and are very hard to remove. That is the only reason we will never again use that color cloth on our tables in our poolroom. Jean Balukas's family owned Hall of Fame Billiards in Brooklyn chose gold cloth to adorn their Gold Crown I tables for years, but that was before the days of player's keeping and using their own personal chalk.
