B&R USA
4-1 Europe
4-1 Europe
When I saw the match ups today I didn’t like having svb sitting all day and then playing guys that have been on the table all day. That’s just silly. If your playing him 1 time then play him early.
I thought it was a bold move to go with skyler vs Shaw...not sure if Johan had the option of SVB but in years past towards the end SVB was the work horse playing back to back matches and it didn't fair so well.
Skyler won and secured the 3 match victory for day 3....setting up for a pressure all on Europe day 4
To his credit, Shaw gave a nice handshake to Woodward at the end.
Shaw is just playing to the crowd, it's good for TV. Just wish they would stop the WOOOOO guys.
It's possible to have a reverse effect of home crowd advantage with the singing and chanting...Shaw was too pumped up when I checked in and he missed that 3 ball in the first rack giving sky ball in hand.
What I have been impressed with so far is the USA team lack of emotional outbursts and full of composure mostly while playing.
I think in years past, playing to the crowd took some players out of focus. Probably was the case here with Jayson (at least from what I saw in that first rack)

People have been saying that every year might be the year the US turns it around.
For whatever reason, Europe has underperformed so far and the US has been playing well.
Kaci looks a little overwhelmed, Kazakis hasn't exactly been a rock, and Feijen is shaky. Shaw is his usual self while Ouschan is doing well.
We should also remember that if Styer were barfing all over himself then the match standings would look a lot different right now.
I thought the same thing. Skyler wasn't waiting for the crowd to shut up, he embraced it. This day is monumental in his career imo.
Shaw chunked multiple times, guess karma, as they say, is a b!tech.

Is the bridge allowed in MC?
I’ve watched about 7 of the matches, have seen some crazy stretching, but no bridge.
I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow, but I'm pretty proud of this USA team.... guys generally ranked well lower than their counterparts across the board, with the exception of SVB. And yet, through some good old fashioned grit, these youngsters have persevered and have created a fairly nice David vs Goliath story come true.
With any luck, they'll close this Mosconi story tomorrow.![]()
No, tomorrow is monumental in the careers specifically of the 3 young American players, not today. It will not be easy to finish this off with the added pressure of being so close and the expectations that they are now supposed to close it out tomorrow with this current lead they've forged. They will have a very hard time sleeping tonight. I just hope we can get on the hill in one of the first two matches. The longer Europe can stave off elimination tomorrow, the harder it will get for team USA to close it out.I thought the same thing. Skyler wasn't waiting for the crowd to shut up, he embraced it. This day is monumental in his career imo.
