Did a search and found pretty much what i needed. Should'a done that first i guess. How are these usually done? Never played in one and am just curious as to format. TIA.
How much does house add? $2/player isn't very much to add to the pot. Say on first night the house added $100 and twenty people played then the pot would only be 140bux or $14/ball, right? We have a mandatory, ongoing 10 ball break and run contest at our local pool hall during the Sunday 9 ball tournaments. It adds $2 to the entry fee for every player, regardless of their ability. If your name is drawn you get a chance to break a 10ball rack. Contestants are paid by the ball count, 10% of the pot per ball potted. However, at least one ball needs to be made after the break. Players can quit at any time after they pot a ball and take the percentage of the pot they have earned. If a player continues to run out and misses all monies are forfeited back into the prize pool. I've never been drawn for the opportunity but I don't get to play in that tournament bri often.

You aren't taking into account how rarely these are hit.
Pots get really big some in 10's of thousands. That brings out road crews buying up 100 worth of tickets each for their try at running one rack.
We had a guy in Oneida NY heist 8k in 10 ball....not sure how he didn't disappear...
We run 5 dollars a ticket..buy as many as you like. You have to be 8n the tourney to play and have recently plated 3 tournaments. Can't let people off the road rob your regulars...
