speed and angles
Seems like just another way of saying that you are using angles. Easiest to do with a sliding cue ball at contact with the object ball. Distance is rarely mentioned but I have found that I can get too close to my work if I don't pick the spot I want the cue ball to stop, ideally about eighteen to twenty-four inches from the object ball but twelve to thirty or so works too.
There is another thread going about speed control at the moment but it is probably the most neglected part of a person's game and it is probably the most important to work on with the glass slick cloth and very lively cushions of today.
If anyone is planning to learn using angles, with or without stun, and speed control to play angles well they can forget playing as a four or five unless they learn that other great skill, the art of the stall!(grin)
