On my phone and don’t know how to add table but, if I have to play offense, play the 1 first. Hopefully leave the cue ball near it’s original position. Bank the 2 and hope for a shot on the 3.

IRL, I play safe off the 3, snuggle up to the 11, so my opponent’s only opportunity is to move the 11. Which hopefully opens a pocket for the 2.

Didn’t consider this, but after seeing it, looks doable and no more difficult than other solutions. I like it and wish I had seen it first.
I like it because I know it - getting a little too steep on a cut shot and having to go across and back for shape is more familiar than I like to admit.

My original suggestion of playing the 1 with right draw for position on the 3 is possible but at the limit and it depends on the cloth a lot. Here is another way to play shape on the 3 so you can get straight in on the 2. The graphics and simulation of the shot are from Virtual Pool 4. The shot looks a little different when the balls are drawn to scale.

Here it is on a bar table.
