Advice on schon cue radial vs 5/16x14?

I was looking at buying my first Schon cue. I have seen a couple that were flat faced radial pin with phenolic collar, rather than the standard 5/16x14 steel collar. I was wondering if any of you have ever played with a Schon cue that had the fact faced radial instead of steel? And how different the hit was vs the steel joint? I have played with a few Schon cues that we're pretty hard/stiff hitting and was wondering if how the radial non steel joint would change the hit if the cue. If it would be softer etc? Thanks

Some of their real early cues had flat-face(http://www.palmercollector.com/Schon/SchonSseries.html) but i've never seen one with a radial. Shaft taper and ferrule type has FAR more effect than joint on hardness of hit. I had a ivory jointed big pin JOSS than hit just as hard as a steel joint.

i had a few if i am not mistaken

i think it was somethig they did later as well

i doubt if it will make any difference to you

if schon made it,you can buy with confidence
i also don't think it is rare either

i wouldn't let it bother me,especially if it has 2 good shafts

if you like revo and it is radial so much the better

if you like the way it hits just buy the cue

Just did a lil checking and apparently they made a few SP's with a Radial. Don't know how many but it wasn't a lot.

Ya that is what I saw also was the SP Schon cues. I wish I could test hit a few but there are no Schon dealers in my area so I just have to buy blindly off the internet and hope I made a good choice. From what I understand though most Schons have a similar hit so I'm probably safe with which ever one I choose hopefully.

I would bet that if you had one of each and screwed them together
neither you nor anyone else could tell the difference

I know i couldn't

buy the cue,you might get a collectible and make big money
