The "owning the table" section has my interest. It is an important thing to work out.

The best set up I've seen for this was in a bar in Manilla.

They had a chalk board with names for the waiting list.

Incoming player always gets to break (to stop one player from dominating the table).

If a player wins five games in a row, they are automatically off the table and back to the bottom of the list (and in this case the bar gives them a free drink). Again stops one player from dominating the table.

If the list got too long, doubles were declared - you were paired up with the player below (or above) you on the list.

Worked extremely well, although of course they had someone in charge of the table which helped to avoid any conflict.

I read it over and found I could adjust my work with very few words for some of the problem spots. Things like touching the cue ball with the stick.. lol... I had to type it somewhere.

The Big Problem is safties.
While my "whatever" used to work in a pool hall there is a degree of difficulty for her because she has a very weak stroke. I've tried suggesting ways she could work on her stoke but she doesn't like my ideas...

So the safety or miss she commonly makes really can't be punished by ball in hand. Somebody that knows what a safety is this becomes a different story.

I'm really not sure what to do here.

The "owning the table" section has my interest. It is an important thing to work out. The good thing is that you address it, but the blurb is convoluted and could use more detail and clarity. For instance taking people's "plans" into consideration? Thats what the rules are for, so when ones group plans run into another groups plans you know what to do.
Personally when I go to a bar I just ask the bartender or bouncer what the "up" rules are. When I play, if were playing for fun, we can play by whatever rules you want. If were playing for money we are going to have a conversation about rules and the money gets put on the light.

Thank you, I have reworked this area a bit per your comments and I'm not sure how to address betting and implied bets that might be happening. This is a big area of concern for me as well and I would like to present a good starter knowledge. Something that will reduce fights and promote fun.

OMG! Love it and it will help me make a point. I try to write so I will be understood by people that need things as clear as possible with as little slang as possible. And then sometimes I just don't care. But this is the type of person that needs, well more help then my writing.

At this stage of development, it's about the content and not the looks. When all the pages are made up I can better switch templates, adjust colors, fonts, add photos, add social media, ok I'm just putting that off but you get the idea. I need to break the balls and then see what I have to work with.

As far as the marketing once the words are in place I can do all the SEO stuff and work on the Twitter feed. This is going to be posted daily to twitter.

I updated several pages using Grammarly free and the next step is the paid version because I seem to have a few Inappropriate Colloquialisms. I'm sure that will be interesting. Take a look, added scratches and fouls too.

I don't know who his advertisers are or if there are nefarious scripts or viruses. I won't go to his site simply because I do not want him to have the page views.

Well yes, folks, in a minimum speech I'll go with, yes your IP is exposed to any website and logged to varying degrees to later be turned into statistics that people like to look at and get an idea about what is going on. if you google Webalizer you should find the code and see examples. Don't know, not looking.

It's not that exciting. Location is not to exact and that's partially because there is only so much accuracy in GeoIP lookups because people use VPN's to surf porn and such. The VPN leaves a direct connection to your computer still so you want to get a proxy that will filter out bad things and not just a proxy.

It's not productive or much fun as trying to do whatever to the visitors to one's site, it's a lot easier to just go directly to all the IP's and look for holes and making trouble. Which leaves me making a living seeking them out and terminating them.

I could put a chat thing on there which would tell me when someone is visiting and then I could chat with visitors. I'm going to pass on that.

So for those that are stupid enough to think I'm making a website and putting "bad" things on it to attack them need to go back to their cardboard box and put their tin hat on to wait for further instructions.

A VPN is a good idea any way you look at it when all of our net neutrality is going to be gone, what's left of it anyway.

There are many nefarious things on many "crazy" sites. You may do whatever you see fit when you browse the internet. I will use some protection.

If you have good antivirus I wouldn't worry too much. But there are a lot of bad actors out there and there are a lot of people who's devices are broadcasting a lot of personal data that they gave it permission to.

My quip about a VPN was a bit of joke. I don't believe you have ill intentions. I'm still struggling to figure out your actual intentions.

The arguments against anonymity always circle back to porn and illegal activities. Anonymity and privacy will be vitally important things going forward. It doesn't have as much to do with hiding your activities as it has to do with protecting your privacy. The way to undermine people who value freedoms is to call them nut jobs and tell them put on their tin foil hats.

Good luck with your web site. I hope you provide a lot of useful information to a lot of people. I also hope you learn a lot of things along the way.

Pretty scary place these days.

Funny story, I own several sets of balls and I was evaluating the effects of various cleaning agents and wax effects. I shoot over 500 balls per session and after one day I went in and saw my favorite bartenders. Three lovely young ladies all of which we're familiar with my game. However, I was pretty exhausted and flabbergasted. When they ask how my pool day went all i could get out was, I need to wax my balls. Needless to say, the Hooters girl went off like a rooster. And boy did they ever get a good laugh. I'm still embarrassed.

So I updated the bartender and waitress pages to account for this.

The goal of the site is to set up basic guidelines for new players under the age of 25. Winning is not the goal. Fun for newbies and higher profits for table owners is.

I will be throwing my support behind the APA. BCA aside from being rude to me is more for experienced players from what I know so far. If things work out the BCA will get the best of the APA. But I don't have the experience to know that for sure.

APA seems to be directed towards social fun more than the BCA too.

As far as I know.

At the same time, the APA has videos and things to promote pool with more than BCA.

I have never heard of any other leagues so, winner winner chicken dinner.

The BCA is not a league. The BCA is a trade organization. You seem to have confused the two. You may want to look into what the WPA is if you really want to support billiards in the Olympic Games.

Leagues are not in my future.

Right now I'm working on raising interest, usage and product sales with the general public in order to create a larger public demand when a "we want in the Olympics" campaign starts. It could be the difference between thousands and millions of signatures.

I know the league and tournament angle has been beat to death already and in my opinion, bringing the public into pool halls be it to play with friends or a birthday, bachelor party, singles night, and etc, as so many have tried before but with bad internet presence management will create more league players. You folks deal with them then, not me. But I do want to watch

Then bringing in a charity we all care about (and I lost my aunt to after her 20+ year battle) is just one of the additional ways to gain support from America via charity events. But it's not so much about how it could create an annual revenue stream for everybody but actually to put Billiards on the lips of more people that may never go to a pool hall but when the petition comes up, they will be more apt to sign it.

To get there there are several things that need to happen.

Pool halls and anywhere there is a table need to clean up their internet activity. They need websites, google things done, yelp things are done, twitter and facebook accounts, and then used and maintained. Right now Google lists pool halls in fields (Gary Indiana pool hall search) and so on.

Instructors need a web presence too. I'm about to build one btw. and then need to know how to use it so people can find them.

and Finally, I think if people enter the game with a clearer understanding of the rules. which are adjusted to reduce fights it will promote a fun and positive image of pool.

Thank god Dr, Dave finally rebuilt his website as it's one of the most important sites I think to anybody getting interested and anybody getting deep into Billiards. My only concern there now is data disaster recovery issues. (The data world I live in). This ongoing attention would bring in a lot more DVD sales, etc.. as well.

So, Bob, we are not going to agree on JS, and unless you have a better idea (not another tournament and a chance to win money please) how to get a few million signatures, help a charity, bring more customers into pool halls, buying cues, joining leagues, buying videos, chalk, lessons, and having fun, I would appreciate your support and not this ongoing crap.

Drawings for beginners group lessons, a cue and a soft case. Local Billiards Rooms would benefit from the exposure if they participated and had a room that wanted and welcomed Noobs and Ball Bangers.

The idea of a Traveling Trick Shot Show is to expose Billiards to the average Joe.

Then MAYBE some people will go to the sponsoring Billiards Room to play and ask about leagues.

Then MAYBE there might be some growth in people wanting to keep playing in a league.

Then MAYBE a Sponsor might take notice and promote Billiards.

Exposure is what I am after. Billiards doesn't exist for the majority of the public.

The BCA has nothing to do with leagues, nor does the WPA nor the WCBS. If you are really interested in seeing cue sports in the Olympic Games you will need to know what those organizations are. That you don't know what they are already is quite remarkable.

It may surprise you to find out that the IOC has already accepted billiard sports into the IOC family. (That is, formally recognized the world governing body of cue sports as properly organized and a potential participant in the Games.)

And if you hope to sell products with an Olympic logo on them, you should seek legal advice first.

When things are ready the trick shot guys can contribute by allowing the posting of cool trick shots and I don't mean multi-shot mega productions. There was just a kid doing trick shots and his video got 78 Million views with no upsell.

78 Million people saw that video and did nothing.

Somebody said then, let's put him in the mall. lol. ok, just no.

The mall of America is now attached to every kid's hand at age 7 and all we need to do is post cute trick shot videos and they will share them. Maybe a billion times altogether and the seed will be planted.

so now you're maybe after exposure to thousands in the mall turns in to a percentage per million.

The cost of much of this is minimal. Most of it is free to do,

Oh to give you an example. I posted a Tournament "online" and it received about 100 views a day from local visitors and people interested in the city and other 100 per day average in another area. some of those people actually clicked on it too..
