See you live in Savannah. Ever talk to Keith Josey? He makes a REAL nice sneaky that iirc starts in the $500 neighborhood. http://www.joseycues.com/cues.php
Diveney sp's ARE sweet. Have had a couple over the years.Josey is a hell of a cue too! Also, there are Diveney cues available right now on his web page for $500. Good luck.

Oh I definitely talk to Josey, we're Facebook buds and he's done a bunch of tips and re-wraps for me.
A Josey is definitely in the cards. When I do get one, I want a little higher end.
For production cues, my wife loves her merry widow style Jacoby. She says no if I suggest a new cue for her...
I have to give a shout out to Lucasi.
I've had the same Lucasi for 10 years and it is still straight and the finish is like new.
You can get a plain one for $200 or so.
As far as how it hits thats entirely subjective.
Well.... I went with a Mezz Sneaky, just pulled the trigger on it a minute ago.
I'm very appreciative of all the help guys, and if I lose any more games, it's all j2pac's fault!![]()

Your "mighty Lucasi" hits good, but the Lucasi cues I had hit better.
That's no shit
Lucasi's are made by TaiCan/Universal in China. That factory makes several brands(Lucasi, Predator, most ADAM,and others). They make over 30,000 cues/month. They buy a LOT of wood and cure it correctly. Very good cues.Reading thread from front to back, consistencies found.
@1 Older
wood was very different then than now, we replant tree's and harvest wood between 10 and 20 years.
example: Brunswick used wood from trees aged 75 or 100 years, more.
That's no longer the case.
#2 Lucasi
The Lucasi custom cue is a strong player in the billiard Industry, consistent.
I don't know how they do it, their cues top out time and time again, Lucasi builds a good cue.
They know wood and how wood works, wood has secrets, Lucasi knows those secrets.
#3 McDermott
Older McDermott's are always mentioned, especially the C and D series.
Again, the woods used had been growing for a long time before harvesting,
pool cues made from 90 year old wood play exceptionally better than cues made with 20 year old wood.
Why didn't anyone mention Meucci![]()
(just kidding)
Josey, Keith Josey makes a strong pool cue, excellent choice.
