2019 WPA World 9 Ball - Qatar

Filler looked weak, like he gave up in the match. Not the sign of a champion. I hate to say it, but he may be gone from the pool world in a few years. Something about him tells me he might not last.
Wu just got outplayed by young Xu.
I dunno; one bad tourney.

Well...this deciding rack Ko vs Szolnoki was one of the most amazing ones I've ever watched. As I see it the chances for baby Ko to win the title are quite big (imho). It's obvious how talented and confident he is.
Nothing against Oliver but I could not watch some more matches with him without a shot-clock...

Ko was just as bad......almost

I was hoping they both would lose

I was just lucky to start watching at the score 7:9 Szolnoki but it was more than enough to watch the rest of the racks...just horribly slow.
I would expect baby Ko playing much faster against somebody not Szolnoki;)

Down to 32

From the group of top/first favorites (Filler,Wu, Chang Jung Lin, Shane, Big Ko, Little Ko, Biado), only 4 are left after Filler, Wu and Shane were sent home early in last 64.
I would say the second favorites now are Albin,Kazakis,Liu Haitao,Pagulayan,Chang Yu Lung,Max Lechner,Melling,Gorst,Kevin Cheng
Then the rest are dark horses

Appleton beat Kaci 11-6. Daz looks dangerous again.

Yes, Daz was 0-4 down and came back to upset Kaci. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157857118398156&id=518568155
Daz is now oldest player left.

Very slow 3.5 hours that is about 10 minutes per rack , probably 9 minutes excluding time out. Nice comeback by Little Ko after trailing for most of match up to 4 racks.

So early outs of Filler and SVB is a real upset... After Josh was the first to lose in 1/32 I've just thought may be this year Shane could do it finally. But this event is really tough even with 96 players field...

It isn't tough. The equipment makes it just "A FLIP A COIN" for these calibre players man.

Ever been to Derby? The first few days those Diamonds play a lot like these. Any table with new slick cloth plays easier. Its the same for both players. Better player has won the matches i've watched so far. And it is a good field. The final 64 is stout. I'd like to see Yapp win personally. I like his action.

Based on the names, i dont think there is one mid-east guy left though they dominated the field in numbers
