2019 WPA World 9 Ball - Qatar

I haven't watched much of this champs
no shot clock right?
wondering if anybody thinks that's been a factor
in how any player has progressed
or not, as the case may be

These players all have experience playing on a shot clock and also without one. I don't think the results are affected, but for the spectators, the games are far less exciting to watch without a shot clock.

JL Chang a good example. He's a slow player when the shot clock is off, but he shot the lights out on the 10-footer in winning the Bigfoor 10-ball event at the Derby in January with a shot clock in use, an event in which Gorst came third.

It's a tragedy that the final of a world championship is being played at 3pm local time so no one in the world can watch properly watch. I think it's under 1.5k viewers on YouTube at the time of this posting.

Sad days. Especially after seeing AtLarge's post of previous years' 1st prize fund.

thanks stu
I'd glanced at a few posts mentioning the clock
just didn't know if it was affecting the players
or just us :)
you make a great point that it's far from unusual to not have a timer
but do you think players are taking more time than they would elsewhere?
maybe due to the occasion, this being the world champs and all?

wonder if AL or anybody is keeping track to see
if players are taking more time per shot, game, match
thanks again

Watched the Billy vs Biado last rack on hill-hill. Billy took a good 15mins on the first two shots of the rack.
