Need help...

He's trying to get his cue fixed not lectured by Capt. Obvious. Hope you never say something like this within earshot of a po'd player. You may not like what follows.

I've said it within "earshot" of every pool player I ever saw doing that ever since I first started playing pool. I worked in a pool hall as a kid and had to fix the cues. If you did that with a house cue, you were shown the door.

If you had your own cue and slammed it across the table you were thrown out, too. Not for slamming YOUR cue, but for slamming it into OUR table.

I've seen all kinds of cues broken during the time I've played and I just laugh at the fools who can't control their temper and take it out on their equipment.

I've played pool for over 50 years and gambled at it and have never, not even once, slammed a cue, thrown a piece of chalk, or anything else when I screwed up something at the table. I may have said a few choice words while I was going back to my seat, but I didn't destroy anything.

You guys have been wonderful. Thank you for the many nice responses. I appreciate the care and attention you've given me regarding this matter. I'm very pleased.

The general consensus appears to be Eddie Cohen or Scott from Proficient.

To PRED : Yes, If I must replace the Butt Cap, I will save the original.

To Garczar : Thank you for BACKING ME up... I felt JimmyCo's comments were a bit HARSH. It was just an accident. No temperament issues here.

To Kickin Chicken : Yes, now I understand about pressure build up. Incredibly, It was just a tap.

To Strmanglr Scott : Yes, Epoxy repair. That's what I had in mind But I'm afraid I'm not too good with my hand. I would rather have an experienced repair man do it. It seems like a relatively easy fix.

To Deanoc : Do you or anybody have McDaniel's contact number ? This would be best. I can send him photos of the damage.

HAPPY 2020 TO ALL !!

I was recommending that to jeffj2h since he's already tried doing it himself.

I accidentally CRACKED (Split) the BUTT CAP for my Bill McDaniel Cue.
I Missed a shot and " lightly punched" the cue into the carpeted floor and it Split... FYI. To my fellow pool players, Don't do this.

Can anybody repair or make me a replacement Butt Cap w/ McDaniel Logo on it?
(It's the standard "C on top of M" Logo.)

I'm not sure if its Ivory or another synthetic material. But I'LL find out soon.

Or Any other ideas or suggestions ?

Happy New Year to all !!
Lightly punched the cue on the carpet? I’ve seen it happen in here way too many times - butt caps cracked by frustrated players doing exactly that. I can’t recall ever seeing it happen to a player that did it “lightly”. I’m sure someone here will assist you in finding a competent repair man and I’m guessing it won’t happen again anytime soon!

Yeah, well, he put this on a public forum.

Lots of folks already provided suggestions, and I totally agree with Proficient.

BUT that's not the underlying issue, is it? It's his temper.

Ignore that and what's next? "Accidentally" break a shaft on the edge of a table?

Road rage because he lost a set?

Been playing for 40+ years and never play with guys like this. At least not more than a game or 2, which is usually how long it takes for their true colors to show.

Thanks for the promotion, though. Captain has a nice ring.

Believe me, its no promotion. Competitors get mad and this stuff happens. Trying to psychoanalyze someone on a pool forum based on one act is kinda ridiculous. I actually love it 'cause they usually go busted afterwards.
