Has Predator redesigned the Revo shaft?

The inside front cover of the new Billiards Digest has a Predator advertisement showing 2 new SP Revo butts with new color combinations and a Revo shaft with a white ferrule. Also, they are advertising "Streamlined for precision performance." Could they possibly have changed the taper to a pro taper which has been more in demand?

I have looked all over the interweb and haven't found more information, as of yet.

billiards digest still published? had no idea

post a pic if you can

You can custom order revos now to choose size, weight, pin and white or black vault plate. Think you were just seeing one made with the white plate.

No. Predator would not publish an advertisement with one of their products being altered by an outside source. This is an official Predator advertisement, not a photo of Predator products by another company. Also, Billiards Digest has a history of scooping other venues with new products by companies. Kind of like the old adage: "You saw it here FIRST on.....".

It was my guess that Predator is going to a pro taper by using the phrase "streamlined for precision performance"

I sent Pred. a FB msg. and asked if the white vault would be offered at regular Revo price. He said they haven't fully decided on pricing yet.

Eventually market pressures from other manufacturers of carbon fiber shafts will influence this decision.
As business gets captured by other brands, Predator will see the light and make this a std, free option.

I agree, hopefully.

They will continue to "redesign" every so often. That's how they make money.
And I'm pretty sure each one will be "better" than the last design.
And I don't doubt each company that builds a shaft will do the same.
A teenager now may end up with 50 shafts by the time he reaches 50 years of age.

What outside source? The custom orders can only be done with predator themselves.

Greg, that was exactly my point. Someone mentioned that the shaft in the photo might have had a white vault plate installed by someone other than Predator. My point was that Predator would only advertise an item entirely made (or customized) by them.

It's been a few years and about that time. New and 'improved' technology. Predator REVO 2.0 just like all their LD's for the last 15 years. All about the hype. Have to keep it rolling.

Current Revo owners will unload their used 2 year old Revo's for $350ish and for a few hundo line up for the 'new and improved' technology 2.0 model @ $579

My guess while all the comp holds or drops pricing while making minor changes/tweaks to their respective CF shafts to capture a piece of CF market share while as always Predator drops to $449 unloading original Revo stock and raises pricing on new 2.0 shaft.

Have a good day

Same Revo and options they introduced last year (April - SBE).

Predator does customization on the Revo. You choose "weight, Vault plate color, tip type, joint type and 29 or 30 inches your name lasered in with custom aluminum joint protectors "

No changes from last year as far as that photo goes.
