Has anyone's APA league restarted yet? I think our league will have problems starting with social distancing in place in small bars.

We started back playing. 4 weeks ago as if this friday. I cant speak for what measures are being utilized in bars as i only play in house divisions at 2 pool halls.

Methods being utilized by our league is a request to only have 3-5 players on each team.show up. They are allowing judicious use of replays if you only show with 3 players.....as long as you dont bust the 23 rule. Another change is only scheduling half the teams in the division each night.. For example when we started up they only scheduled 4 teams out of an 8 team division for that night.

The venues are also taking measures such as leaving a table closed between tables being used. In effect only using half the tables available. Also i see plenty of wiping everything down including balls and tables before and after use. One pool hall covers every table not in use to avoind people touching them when they pass by.

As for social distancing among team mates ...practically non existent..every one seems to sit together as usual before the virus. I make it a habit to leave at least one seat between me and a team mate. Btw....few are wearing masks.. Most people ackoweledge each other with an elbow bump or a nod but i have encountered a few who want to shake hands and i politely declined.

So far i have not heard of any issues ....knock on wood.

4 weeks in?
should start to see if there's anything too it, not practicing the Wuhan red defense.

From the local scene; medical people, are saying about those that have it, bad, surviving,
are looking at months of rehab never to fully recover to the pre wuhan red invasion.

good luck as you describe it.

yes, the odds are in your favor of no infection when best practice is exercised.

In Lafayette, Louisiana, In-house APA League starts Monday at all the pool halls. Travel league that shoots at various bars will start shortly thereafter.
First local tournament with APA rules is tonight  and tomorrow and next Saturday will be the singles splash boards.
Wearing masks and Tyvek suits is optional.

Bars not open yet in Chicago western Suburbs for pool.
A few bars that host large large APA leagues have already said that they will not reopen. This could be a big loss for the APA and pool in general.

...nope, on the could be big loss for pool in general.

the right game stage properly is on the horizon,
some might say 'what planet are u on',
we'll see...

Depends on the league. Some started a couple of weeks ago. Pretty much all of them will be back up and running this coming week.

Tournament organizers got going quick to take advantage of the relatively slow start to leagues though. There have been tournaments running for a month now, ever since we reopened some of the bigger rooms...

It was looking like 2020 was going to be the biggest year in pool with Pats international open, Mosconi Cup, Derby, Turning Stone and USOpen. It was starting to look like a real pro tour.

oh',
yeah,
for this year they've hit a wall,
the underlaying surge you were seeing is still there, just delayed till next year.

Chris's is back open. No tournaments yet.

Haven't heard when Brad or Ross will start leagues again in the city yet.

Where do you play?
