Check out me trying to level my table. I kept putting it off for months, because I just wanted to hit balls and nothing else. I had enough after it was rolling so bad and causing missed shots/position. It came out pretty good I'm not a table mechanic, this is just fun for me, so don't take this as the right way

I didn't touch any of the slate shims, and the slate seams were still smooth from when it was originally and professionally installed 8 years ago. I only adjusted from the feet.

Looks like a fine job! Reminds me that I need to get a couple of those Machinist levels. I was going to ask how your table developed a roll, but the video answered that question. I suppose over time with foundations moving from season to season they are going to need to be adjusted, even if you aren’t moving the table like what you have been doing.

I have no idea.

Look under the table. Is your slate sort of lighter, on the silvery side? If so it is Brazilian.

If its a little darker then its Italian.

Nicely done. Given that you liked the job that was originally done, I probably just would’ve called the guy that installed it eight years ago if he’s still around.

But then I don’t replace my own cue tips either. I leave that to the guy who built my cue...

I just crawled under and looked for the label. Brazil. IDK what year it was made. I'm the 3rd owner, was always privately owned in a house.

I also didn't find any shims. I guess the installers used the adjusting screws for slate leveling. By eye, it actually looks like the MDF slate frame is entirely sitting on the main timber frame. If true, the main frame must be pretty flat and level

I like doing things myself when I can, especially if it involves precision machinist tools I'm about due for a re-cloth. That job I may call him back, IDK.
