Knew exactly what match this was when you said Deuel.

Fun match...commentators are dumb struck.

Ronnie O'Sullivan blasting away at kicks against Selby in the World Championship reminded me of this match.

Corey..."I'm not going to out move him, so if he doesn't run 8 and out, I will" or something like that.

Classic.

The video is a little heartbreaking, with the late Grady Matthews and the late John Ervolino commentating and telling stories about the late Jack "Jersey Red" Breit and the late Cisero Murphy. In the opening sequence, you see the late Larry Lisciotti and the late George "Ginky" SanSouci. We've lost a lot of good ones in the world of pool.

..and it is bitter sweet to see the faces of some I really liked.

that's very true (although the forum nostalgiacs will argue otherwise).

but i like to think corey was one of the transformers of the game. not all of his ideas took hold, but the overall aggression and creativity was a hint of the future. he did continue to use that break occasionally into the 2010:s but i haven't seen it lately. fascinating to watch, and hear his reasoning behind it.

i really liked this era too, cliff joyner, daulton, reyes, gabe. they were the ones that made me appreciate 1p.
