John Schmidt's 626

oh

The longer he withholds the actual video evidence of his record run, the more it begins to look like a non record. If it is finally revealed in an edited version there will always be questions about what we didn't see. As for me I'd like to watch the whole thing and make my own judgement on it's validity.

Yer story has changed u used to joke about - when will the 626 cue arrive - ha ha - I guess one of yer political affiliates told u to put on yer hawk mask - yer a west coast joke toupee jay. Truly kinda worthless in my view, I guess no crime to change yer mind though (now that it's politicly correct 4 u) now u real eyes - u too were apart of the bca's and j.s.'s media experiment - as Dillon would say "how does it feel?" no like being apart of their fake news advertisement eh? Yer not welcome to the club.

a memo

Just a quick memo to those who are going to try to reaffirm that this 626 is legit - I am an extremely difficult person - for those who choose to promote fake news and or make jokes regarding Willie Mosconi's 70 + yr World Record in 14.1 - extremely difficult. The fact that bca and j.s. are attempting to steal intellectual property - just so he can be in hall of fame 'good ol boy club' is not a joke. Anyone who practices 14.1 avidly or cares about American Sports History Record keeping should be concerned, drive by media is not a joke. The bca and j.s. - Do Not have the Rite Of Passage - in the legitimate history books for Pocket Billiards.

I think it is pretty clear at this point that the "record" is bogus but people will believe what they want.

I'm not a member of the BCA and have had nothing to do with their approval of his video/run. But thank you for reminding all of us what a looney you've become. No one can take anything you say seriously for good reason. First of all it's hard to decipher (look that word up if you own a dictionary) what you're talking about, your grammar and spelling are on a fourth grade level and your attacks on anyone and everyone that disagrees with you are getting old. I suspect you are mentally ill and am hopeful that you receive the therapy you obviously need.

What's pretty clear is that a few want that to be the case - either because of professional envy, bad blood, simple contrariness or all of the above. It's not a good look.

What's worse for the "look" of the game....

Fraudulent claims that result in undeserving accolades...?.., or small group of people refusing to acknowledge those same claims based on hearsay alone...?

I'm not saying JS's claim is fraudulent. Just putting both sides on even keel.

I think the worst "look" for the game is this thread.

Several members not just one member of the BCA sat down and viewed this video but people still calling fake and foul. Those of you doing so are what is wrong with the game in general. A lifetime achievement by one of the best 14.1 players of our lifetime.

I can see I havent missed much being away from the forums. Lots of hate for our pro players still out of pure jealousy and envy. 99% of the forum cant run 2 racks of balls. What a sad bunch. The same type of people who cry dumping when someone has a bad set. We all know when the video does come out and shown to be true that there will be no apologies given here and no praise.

I am not a 14.1 guy so dont know what the market is. Johns record breaking run is worth more in my opinion.

It seems to me that you've jumped in here and are totally unaware of the threads here that have discussed why, to some, the BCA "certification" is a problem.

Everyone has got one.

If you did, just a small search, and checked out what's been discussed to date, you might have a clue.

You've shown incredible restraint for knowing all this time it was about the hall of fame and only now bringing it up. Do the inductees get more or less than Nobel Prize recipients?

So who's "certification" would give credibility? Guinness Book of World Records?

Off the main subject but bearing directly on the events that may have harmed our sport's reputation. About 30 years ago I began hearing a tale about why Las Vegas did not make book on pool. I heard this story repeated over many years from both pool players and casino insiders. The story involved a dump by the odds on favorite player. A vast number of players, officials, the whole pool world, all had money down on the dump. It ultimately cost the casinos a whole ton money. The upshot was like "fool me once . . ." but Vegas then decided that pool players were not to be trusted under any circumstance so the rule became "never again". Vegas, to this day, does not book pool. Any truth to this urban rumor? If the story is true, what are the details?

David Howard and Buddy Hall dumped to Mike Lebron who a bunch of players had placed big bets at 20-1 odds in the early 90's.

If I remember right they got the casino for $1M.
