Reminder Mosconi cup

2-1 Gorst.

Cory is not playing well at all. He looks unsure of his cue ball control and, like yesterday, is consistently playing poor position from one shot to the next. Makes me wonder how Eberle or Tyler would be performing...
 
Cory makes a ball but has to play safe on the 1. His safety play thus far has been bad.

Not terrible but kicked the 8 into the jaws and fedor can hit a jump combo....which he does and leaves himself straight on the one.

Should be out here for 3-1 and the break.

I just wonder if it is a personal thing with JJ? I agree, on the table, I would pick Styer all day. In one interview, Joey made a comment about choosing players that are working and practicing hard....maybe they don't think Tyler is?
 
Fedor makes the one but no real shot on the 2. Plays a splendid safety. The difference in safety play between these two is glaring.
 
Don't mean to pile on Cory here, but he is being bent over and ain't even getting the pleasure of a reach around. Amazing with all the experience and miles he has on him that Fedor is this much stronger.
 
Allison makes a good point about Cory's safety play. His safeties would be awesome in a local tourney or league. At this level, if your safeties are leaving 2-3 inches between balls, that is more than enough to jump or kick out of the safety.
 
Cory again plays terrible position. SVB does not approve. And Cory gives up the table after playing safe.
