Huebler Cue

I was a recreational player decades ago; believe my high school basement was the largest pool hall west of the Mississippi River. St Louis University High School.

I purchased a Huebler cue from Cue & Cushion in early 1988. Believe the cue model was a H-A, H-B or H-C. The cue has the solid steel joint option, and cost roughly $350 new in the late 80’s.

I’m trying to identify this specific cue today, and how I should work with this going forward.

I am sure huebler brochures are available thru Google, no?

You want to rebuy it? I got no direct help to lend but do know there are definitely some devotees to the brand.

I am trying to provide some photos; first attempt, likely not doing this well. Very much appreciate any insight, and apologies for wasting everyone's time otherwise.

Nice Huebler, I’m not sure how much he is on here, but message member poolcrazy, he can give you more information.

So what exactly are you trying to do, get more info about it or buy the same model now? You are not really asking the right questions here.

It is a tad vague. Can't tell if he just wants to id' it or sell it. Very nice cue he has.

I apologize for any confusion I’ve introduced. I am simply and only interested in finding info about this cue I bought at Cue & Cushion in Missouri around I believe 1988, after saving money from mowing lawns and similar for a few years as a youngster. I have this cue now, have had it for over 30 years, and do not want to sell it. I literally recently found it in a closet, and am curious, that’s all….

I did have a brochure and price list from 1988. Looks like a H-F model and retailed for $270.
Enjoy the cue!

Nice cue and pool room. I like the camel tan cloth. I spent a lot of time playing on that color at a neighbors house when we were kids.

Maxx,

Thank you so very much for your help. I was blindly stumbling through info as I asked questions, and your knowledge clarified everything. I very much appreciate that you took the time to share your expertise. I did not bother message member poolcrazy, as you’ve seemed to answer my questions.

Maxx and Black-Balled,

I was definitely a marketing target in 1988, as a 16 year old. But Cue & Cushion let me test cues for months, mostly between different levels of Vikings and Hueblers. From vague memory, since this was over 30 years ago, Cue & Cushion said I should spend the least amount relative to quality of cue. Think they said Viking cost more for name or ornamentation, and I’m guessing now (after Maxx shared the brochure) the cost basis they suggested. I am guessing that the maximum Huebler cost was $350, but they suggested me down to a lower H-F model at $270.

As Maxx stated, the stainless joint was $30, which felt very important to me at that time. It was suggested that I get 2 shafts at the same time, but I did not add that option.

So after everyone’s help on this website, I know that I have a single shaft, stainless steel, Huebler 1988 H-F cue. I love it, even if it’s not being used, and hasn’t been for many years. I wish I could use it, and maybe someday in the future I will. Thanks so much again for everyone’s help and guidance. I very much appreciate that everyone on this site has shared their knowledge and understanding, and been willing and accommodative in responding to my naïve questions.

You made the right decision way back then. I used Meuccis, but had problems with the plastic cracking. Tried Vikings, but when I bought the used 57" brass jointed Huebler in 1974 I was hooked!

Huebler cues are pretty common in this area. The first decent cue I ever bought was also at Cue and Cushion and I still have it. Schon SL -5. Unfortunately I can't play with it now because I need a wrapless cue due to a problem with the fingertips on my grip hand but I still own it and it still rolls straight.

I no longer live in St Louis but the last time I checked Cue and Cushion was still in business.
