How much back swing do you require for a cue ball that is on the cushion? Are you willing to play with a 54" cue? 48"? How large is an 8ft carom table? (I had the impression they were more like the equivalent of 8.5.)Does anyone know of a current source for an 8 ft. Carom table, new or used, preferably in the Phoenix area?
What would the necessary room size be for an 8 ft. carom table?
Thanks.

The room size chart linked to above is problematic. It seems to be calculated for zero backswing for a frozen cue ball. That is typical of the charts supplied by people who sell tables. Scummy.
If you have a 58-inch cue, and you measure from the nose of the cushion, that would allow only two inches of backswing for a few shots. If you measure the five feet (60 inches) from the edge of the rail, it's probably fine. A tall person with a wide stance might feel crowded.I have seen recommendations that 5 feet on each of the 4 sides should be sufficient. Would you agree with that?
