Getting my table done next week.
New cloth and rubber.
Using 860 Tournament Blue.
I figure any poolroom I walk into will probably have Tournament Blue
on their tables so why disrupt things.
There was a room in Delaware (long gone now) that had gold simonis in the 90’s. I liked it a lot. The owner was a pro speed player and he got the gold as he said the balls were easier to see on it.
Simonis gold or camel are both excellent colors to play on - burn marks don’t show up much at all and balls all show up well with the possible exception of the 1-ball and the 9-ball. You’ll just need to always use gold/camel colored chalk.
The biggest reason it’s not more popular for poolrooms (speaking from experience) is the number of players these days that have their own personal blue chalk. Blue chalk marks are extremely hard to completely remove from camel/gold color cloth.
