Please help out a pool legend

I believe that Danny's daughter is working on getting his repossessed vehicle back in the next few days solely based upon the outstanding support Danny received from all his friends.

Understand however this assistance he received was just barely enough to get his car back from the finance company.

With no major tournaments going on, Danny still has no income and has significant health issues going on along with a very sick daughter.

Next month all the same bills will come into play, rent, car payment, insurance, utilities, food, gas and with no incoming funds Danny will be right back in the same bad spot he was just in.

That is why I believe Danny's daughter has placed the donation request at a high number because as long as pool is at a standstill for the most part so will be Danny's only way of making a living.

They never give scar back once they take it.

I do not believe that to be correct. It may depend on the State also but if you CAN get it back, there will be storage fees, repo fees and more, not to mention paying full up to date and perhaps an additional "security fee".

PS -One small donation in the last 15 hours

I mentioned to Gunslinger and this may as well go out to all interested. Gofundme does not accept PayPal unfortunately or any other quick cash app like Venmo or Cashapp.

With that being said if anyone cares to donate to Danny's Gofundme page started by his daughter Jeanette with either PayPal or Venmo PM me and I will send you my PayPal or Venmo link.

You can send your donations to me with your full name and any comments you'd like to add with your donation.

I'll post the donation on the Gofundme page in your name and post your comments.

I speak with Danny frequently and always read him the names and comments of his contributors.

Danny and his family thank everyone for all your help during these difficult financial and health issues Danny is facing.

It depends on where you bought the car. If it's one of those small lots where you buy here pay here they do their own financing. Those cars are like yo-yos miss a payment they take it back clean it up and sell it to somebody else.

Perhaps some here other than myself sending it in directly, now that we have Danny's address. Hope so.

Another thought...perhaps send the go fund me link to major industry hitters? Pool Dawg, Seyberts, Predator, Meucci, McDermott, etc.?
Anybody bothered to have done that? imapoolnut?

Try it one of these times and you will understand you won’t get it back.

Why did I donate? The old grasshopper and ant fable came to mind. Danny being a grasshopper and I a non gambling ant? Me somebody who worked long hours and days, saved, and invested while he was out hustling and gambling? I'm somebody Danny would have considered a fool and a sucker, someone wasting his life by planning for the future. Pondering this, I shouldn't give a flying fig about Danny's plight. I should be thinking that he made his bed, so let him lie in it....

But then it dawned on me. We Ant types need the grasshoppers of this world...those who lead lives of adventure. Hearing and reading their tales, we can live their lives vicariously...and enjoy some fantasy. I've really enjoyed Danny's commentary on the streams and youtube.

So Danny, it's not a lot...but the check is in the mail...and thank you for sharing your life with somebody who never met you.

Now..that said, won't somebody here with a little pull begin to twist some arms a bit? Hit up the equipment makers and dealers to donate to Danny? That might raise enough to get Danny out of this jam.

I have never bought a car on time. I leased a few but own my current one outright-a 1972 Dodge Dart! :)

Always wanted a 71 in b5 blue 340 4spd
I did have a 72 in 79 or so-Automatic-$150.00- Had a hole through the floorboards in the backseat which a $100 pair of binoculars went out about 60MPH. I probably had it 2 years-got my $$ out of it for sure

I won't comment on all the various posts on here, other than to say I learned a lot from Danny and he has been my friend for over fifty years. And a good friend at that, who protected me on a couple of occasions where someone wanted to do me harm. I won't be asking questions about the why's or wherefores either. What is important is that Danny needs our help. I will be sending him a check and I'm happy to be able to do that.

important post here, and another reminder that just because we don't all follow the same path in life, doesn't mean we can't all get along
in fact, as evidenced in the above post, the diversity of humanity is exactly why life is beautiful! together, we all make a pretty spirited gumbo.

one more thing I'll say to no one in particular is that we all need help sometimes. we all need help sometimes. mark it.

Good on you Jay!...do you have the clout to twist a few industry arms into donating?
They can read and often do read right here on AZB. Some even post on here from time to time. This forum reaches EVERYONE!

One more thing. I can't speak for any one else. I can only speak for myself.

There's an update on the GoFundMe page and apparently it's good news he got his car back yesterday. I don't know what he owes but I would just he pay that car off. There's nothing more important than your car particularly to an older person and he can't run the risk of this happening again.

Good for him! I am impressed. I am HIGHLY surprised the bank allowed that. Although under the current state of financial distress the country is under they are probably more forgiving. I as told by a repo guy that they had 2.5 million cars on the repo list.

I don't picture Danny with sterling credit. It was probably a small lot that do their own financing who just wants their money.

No I haven't but that's a pretty good idea. I'll discuss with Danny this weekend.

Thanks Jay, you were always a world class guy!
