Blue Masters. Been using it for 35 + years and I am still happy with it.
I feel same way about Master Green, works, why fix what is not busted.
Tried others like Kamui, Blue Diamond, noting to can get too.

Very common with deep and ultra deep bases RJ. All my bids for painting had a notation regarding that very thing. BTW did you know that Joe Gold used to be a painting contractor. He worked on new homes in the Wilmette/Kenilworth region. High end neighborhoods.. I had a guy that wanted me to pressure wash his deck. When I saw it I knew it was trouble. Someone had used red chalk to mark the placement of the screws in the pressure treated lumber. Red chalk is for bricklayers and is permanent on wood. I told him good luck and left...Because billiard stores sell whatever color cloth you want, and some folks like Red, Wine, or Burgundy. Oh, it looks nice enough.
But, I don't like playing on it staring at the red clother and using red chalk turns everything red and quickly. 10 times more than blue chalk.
There is a lot more pigment in red than blue. That's the reason Red cars paint fades faster. Oh, they will bounce back quickly when buffed out, but they will fade more quickly. Ever try to paint anything in Red? I did some accent stripes in my son's bedroom when he was little and holy shit, it took 5 coats of paint to cover Red going over just a white wall. geez.
Great observations.I’ve bought and tried just about every chalk PoolDawg sells.
I really can’t see/feel much difference in how they play.
The differences as far as I’ve seen are:
* Residue on the Table
* Residue on the Cue ball (cling)
* The feel during application
* How well it covers
* How long it stays on the tip
Note: my pool table is a constant 28% humidity, 21 °C (68 °F). I chalk nearly every shot.
I have clear preference for: Navigator, Taom. They seem to do everything right.
ON Cyborg and Mezz are also fantastic.
I really like Master, Blue Diamond, Silver Cup NTC, Triangle, Russian Magic. Relatively value priced.
Predator is especially dirty, but applies really nicely.
Silver Cup is Okay, is a bit rough to apply, and squeaks fairly loudly during application. Silver Cup is actually what I use most - it is the closest match to my cloth.
Great White, Kamui Roku, G2: Applies smooth, leaves chalk on the ball, and the ball leaves a dotted line on the table. The chalks are not worth the effort to clean the residue from my table.
Lava - dirty, weird to apply. All the things I dislike with Silver Cup, but much more expensive than Silver Cup.
Overall, I would use any of ‘em without hesitation.
Silver Cup is very ‘meh,’ but it works, it’s cheap, and it matches my cloth best.
Master and Triangle are the clear price/performance winner. It’s not even close.
WTH is 'cosmetic grade' chalk??? And yes the dye does make a difference. Not a lot but its there. I've noticed this when trying-out Triangle chalk.There is something different about this color Master, it applies like cosmetic grade chalk instead of regular blue Master chalk. I cant imagine there is anything different between this green Master and the blue Master other than the dye. Can the dye make the chalk feel a lot different???

That would be what Kamui is called or classified as. Did you never read any of Dr. Dave's chalk posts?? I believe Great White fits that category too.WTH is 'cosmetic grade' chalk??? And yes the dye does make a difference. Not a lot but its there. I've noticed this when trying-out Triangle chalk.
Gotcha. I call 'em 'lipstick chalk'. I think they all suck.That would be what Kamui is called or classified as. Did you never read any of Dr. Dave's chalk posts?? I believe Great White fits that category too.

Only diference in pre-flag is the the flag. Skip at Tweeten told me this DIRECTLY. Flag was added post 9/11.Several years ago at the DCC AZBilliards Members Room I found a piece of chalk that was taped so the wrapper could not be seen. I played with it for a few shots and instantly new it was PRE FLAG MASTERS. A little pull on the tape proved my suspicion. It played great.
I also was given some of the predator blue chalk it works but I'm still happy with the good old tried and true masters chalk .
With that said I'm open minded enough to try some of the new and improved chalk but I feel in some ways a person is just chasing their tail looking for the next new fade .

My sole reason why I bothered spending extra money for chalk was cleanliness. It’s that pure & simple.
