squirt/squerve same thing. the harder you hit it the more it squirts.Careful with your terms my friend. squirt doesn’t vary with speed, but swerve and squerve do

Squirt is the same at all speeds for a given tip offset, but swerve changes with speed and also with cue elevation and cloth/ball condition.squirt/squerve same thing. the harder you hit it the more it squirts.
Thank you. I have read this several times over the years, however, recently I've seen posts about folks saying there is more deflection with speed. I just wondered if new studies have proved this wrong.

Imagine having the cue strike the CB at 1mm per second, the CB will roll about 4 inches and the deflection of the shaft with be all but imeasurable.
Now imagine having the cue strike the CB at 1Km per second, the shaft will break from the deflection which will be several inches if caught on high speed camera.
So, speed definitely dopes influence deflection.
This is the reason I posted this thread.The cb may start on same line/vector but with more speed it doesn't bend back so end result is the cb is further from your shot-line. I guess this is what Dave called 'effective squirt' or something like that. I don't think about this stuff while playing. All i know is the harder you hit it with english the further off-line its going to be. Describe/define it any way you want.
