The back-to-back wins by the US must be considered as rather large upsets, helped out by some botched player selections by the Euro team in both of those years - failing to put Filler on the team one year and Ouschan the next.

yet we hear that the euros can bring the next 5, and the next 5 after that, and still be stronger than the US team...so why is missing one of those two the reason the US won, let alone two years in a row?

Could it be that they are still damned good players who got it together at the right time? nah....Matchrooms fault, in keeping with the theme of the thread, I suppose
 
2010 Mosconi Cup, Shane vs Nick Van Den Berg. 1 minute in, Nick takes an extension and asks the ref to clean the ball. His clock does not stop.

Please read my post one more time.

There is a difference between shooting like a robot and the MMA-type behavior at the 2021 Mosconi Cup. This 2021 Mosconi Cup behavior by the audience was a little different than past Mosconi Cups, in my opinion. I realize the Mosconi Cup is a different animal, but it would be nice if there was something in the middle. I do enjoy emotion shown by players when in competition, but not what I witnessed at the 2021 Mosconi Cup. What bothered me more, however, was when I learned that the screeching noise by the audience members each time any player called for an extension was an intentional mockery of Shane Van Boening's voice, which as most know he is hearing impaired. His voice may sound a little different than those without a hearing impairment.

I do try to contribute good content to AzBilliards Discussion Forum. It used to be a big part of my pool enjoyment years ago, but I have emigrated to Facebook for the most part. I'm not sure why I returned to AzBilliards in recent times, other than hoping to enjoy a colloquy between like-minded pool people during major pool events. In fact, I shared some screenshots and other info in an effort to contribute, again, good content to discussions. But sometimes, no matter what I post or write, there will be a select few who will reply to my posts with mean-spirited words and insults.

Anyway, Straigtpool_99, I'm guessing by your spellings that you may live overseas, maybe the other side of the pond; thus, insulted by my "robotic European player" remarks of the past. I get it, and I admit to it. Happy Holidays to you and yours! :)
