So... with CF Shafts averaging $300-500 a piece, has anyone considered starting an online Monthly subscription based rental service? (Is there something that exists already?)

I've love to rent a shaft and try it out for awhile, so many to choose from now. Hard to narrow down a choice to Invest into one without playing it for a while.

You can make (Affirm) payments for a small monthly fee (same thing).

Or just do what I have done which is buy and resell them. Basically what money you lose is your rental fee. Sometimes it can be pretty low depending on availability

Don't know where you live but in my area i've been able test out quite a few. Seems like every other player has one now. I can usually tell within 30min or so if i'm going like a shaft. My faves so far have been the Cynergy 12.5, Revo 12.9 and the Mezz. I think the Mezz has best feel/sound. Just wish they made on bigger than 12.2 Still using My Mezz HybrdPro(1st version). The cf's don't offer enough, to me anyway, to fork over big bucks for one.

I call this service "friends" LOL

Best part is that it's also free :)

I borrow from friends as well. Err... sorta. I have table. A friend with a Meucci carbon shaft doesn't. He shoots at my house often. So it's usually here and I'm welcome to use it. I don't much. Some other friends I pet sit for have a cynergy. Again I'm welcome to use it. I like the cynergy more than the Meucci I think, but I don't use that often either. Some others would probably allow me to test their shaft if they were present. I'm not interested in purchasing one right now so it seems sort of pointless to try a bunch of different shafts when I could just practice more with the shaft I shoot with.

Selling stuff online is a PITA at least that's been the case for me unless I deal with high volume people. So many scammers etc. I do not have anywhere in my state that has anything close to a decent collection. I would sign up for a service like this to try things out.

I was playing some today and more than half of the few people in the pool hall all had carbon fiber shafts.

Friends yes, I've tried 3 now (REVO, Cynergy, Rogue) but that's a few racks at best for a short amount of time. There are a few uncommon ones that aren't typically found locally.

I would like to try the Bull, The Spartan, Mezz etc.. perhaps in various sizes.

So far I've enjoyed the Cynergy & Revo, the rogue for me was 3rd place.

Just ask people to try their cues. I have a 12.4 Revo and I lend it to anyone who wants to try it once I am there. Some people who played with the 12.9 seem to like the 12.4 better. I love the 12.4 so I am done trying cues.

With the increasing popularity of CF shafts, it should expedite the completion of cues under production.
Typically a cue being ordered to be built includes two shafts & it takes time to correctly make cue shafts.

But when the customer wants to instead substitute a carbon shaft instead of original maple shafts, “Voila”.
So the cue maker only needs to build the cue butt without shafts & it should expedite completing the cue.

Mezz is a great shaft. I just wish it came in sizes other than 12.2

I never tried the prime shaft. But I stumbled upon the Engage shaft one day and I liked the idea of the 18” taper.

it’s got great feel!!!

I have tried the revo, cynergy, mezz, and the rogue and this Becue is pretty awesome!

I also want to try a Becue, read good things...
