Dennis Orcullo banned from USA for five years

Its more like most Asian countries have deep seated resentments to Japanese. As to the story - well once there was this thing called WW2, where Japan pretty much raped & pillaged most of eastern Asia…

Having lived & worked for many years in multiple Asian countries, you are correct - the most vivid forms of racism & anti immigration policies can be found there. But its all over - for example, many folks don’t know that UAE doesn’t grant citizenship to any outsiders - even from other neighbor arab nations. Hell, a haole surfing in wrong spot in Hawaii can experience some nasty stuff.

The current woke racism nonsense in USA is a huge media/academia joke. Humans are tribal and we are scared of what/who we don’t know. Travel is the best education, and Americans have had it blessed to be able to freely roam the planet pretty easily. Unfortunately, new travel restrictions have become a super frustrating & depressing
problem.
Thank you for this reply. Once upon a time (a better time I may add) when Americans were welcome most everywhere, I had the good fortune to travel around our planet from the West to the East (Los Angeles west across the Pacific through Asia and Europe and back to New York and L.A.). I was on the road by myself for 85 days and it was an eye opening experience, both enligtening and inspirational. I discovered that world over people were basically the same. They all wanted to love and be loved, and they wanted to feel productive in their lives. People invited me into their homes most everywhere I went and welcomed me to join them and their families in whatever they were doing. To this day it was the most wonderful experience of my life. I told myself I would do it again every ten years, but so far I have never made a trip like that again. I still love to travel and meet people though. You can learn something from everybody!

Racism must be taught. It is not inherent in small children. That much I know.

yes patriot act was george bush.

and coco. martha stewart didnt go to jail for securties she was dumb and lied to federal agents and went to jail for that felony. thats why every lawyer will tell you to never talk to someone that can put you in jail without consulting your lawyer.
plus they are allowed to lie to you about anything and if you lie to them it can be a felony.

I should have quoted Jay. It was a joke on the TSA going through his phone.
Got it. Yeah, two TSA slobs going thru your phone while jabbering in Ukrainian sounds like quite a shit show. Unfortunately human trafficking & anything vaguely related or even perceived to be related to child custody issues - are apparently real red flag issues. I got into a hassle coming back into USA traveling solo with my daughter (wife stayed home that trip) - passport/INS folks wanted to see documentation that I didn’t have & didn’t know I needed, and were real assholes. As folks have pointed out, ignorance of law is no excuse, and it can be easy to run afoul of stuff at borders.

Hard to believe at age 18/19 we used to regularly stumble back across the Mexican border with only drivers licenses on San Diego - TJ weekend trips only 30 yrs ago…

In Los Angeles home poker games get almost zero heat. I was in a poker house(good neighborhood 5000 sq ft) about 3 years ago-coke, whores, 3 tables full ring going full blast, chef in the kitchen. The big game was PLO 100/200 small game was NLH 10/20 I don’t recall the middle size game. It was decorated like a casino. They got popped after 3 years. But they were doing too much.

It’s possible to run a weekly game here in LA once a week for any stakes you like and not get popped in a house. Even the cigar store has a game in the open 5/10 usually.

Flip side is if you put poker machines in a bar, pool room game over in a week you’ll get popped HARD.

Funny how some places poker draws heat and in others it doesn’t. There’s home games in LA 7 nights a week.

And good luck finding a pool game for $50 without giving up the nuts. Stupid place to live actually
I've been around home games similar where whatever you wanted you got provided by the house. There were chair massage girls, no hookers.
How did the escorts work, taken care of by the house, or each person had to pony up (no pun intended)

Best post of the thread, hilarious!

I was in Mombasa Kenya in 1974. First American ship to port there in a long time. A couple buddies and I were walking down a street and a group of people at a church welcomed us inside to their church service. I think it was Hindu - not sure. We had to take our shoes off. After the service they gave us food.

Never asked for anything. Just being friendly to the Americans. I liked to get off the beaten path and hit the back streets and neighborhoods.

Sorry to hear about Dennis. He is one of may favorite players.

Depending on the game and house rules some places just have massage girls $1-$2 a minute is the rate I’ve been told plus tip.

To answer your question. I don’t know if the house ever took care of the girls for their “work”. I suppose in the nose bleed games where they are taking $30k/night a table they might. But that’s a guess. Far as I know the players pay the girls. As for “upstairs” rates your guess is good as mine. Probably $500-$1000

The house I went to with 3 tables had a upstairs and what happened up there is kinda clear. I’m not sure all girls were “upstairs” girls-I didn’t ask. There was 7-8-9 girls there and half were HOT. Oddly enough the hottest one was the nicest one-usually it’s the opposite.

Some games I know for a fact the girls are ornaments and get drinks and massage only. Nothing “upstairs”.

I’ve also heard some games cap the girls to $1000/night so the ecosystem doesn’t bleed too much $. So anything over $1000 the girls have to give the rest of their $ to the operator-which would slow down “upstairs” action. And the $ stays with the gamblers and eventually the rake.

The reason I was there at the poker house was to play Backgammon. Which I did in a side room for a couple hours. Coincidentally I knew about 3 guys at that house from the gambling world.

I don’t play poker at all and have never played poker. Just seen and spoke to a few home game operators. The girls are not at the low stakes games. The $300-$1000 capped buy in games have zero girls. Those are social games.

I owned a piece of a licensed social club in 2016-2017 and we would lease the room to poker game operators with their staff and players. We got $1000-$1500 flat rate(was legal). Occasionally they would bring one girl to serve and look at. That was a $2000 uncapped buy-in game. There was $50k in play on the table usually. No massage. We didn’t have any games bigger. Was in a commercial building.

So the girls are there and depending on the operator and limit and setting determines what the girls will and won’t do.

Best
Fatboy

It was a long time ago but this is EXACTLY how I remember it. It was like a couple guys bullshiting around the campfire rather than crossing an international border.

Speaking as Canadian that travels into the States often enough. I actually have way more drama entering back into Canada then I do travelling into the States.

Really boils down to who you get to deal with really.

You must have come across a Canadian Customs Agent who didn't care about his job or was close to retirement/didn't give a shit. Generally, Canada doesn't take brining liquor and firearms into their country lightly.

Federal Agencies are short on man power, but if your sort of game offers a return on investment of time. Well let’s say the good time will be over.

The more money involved the more interest there is in enforcing laws. It’s called return on investment of resources.

No interest in busting some $5.00 a set local game, but if your talking about snatching 100k the Locals & Feds will be all ears.
