Question about cue weight…

I got a predator cue butt recently that I really like. But it’s a little bit too heavy for me. There is no weight bolt inside and it’s still too heavy. I’m just wondering if there is anything I can do to make it even lighter?

What weight is it and what do you want it to be?

wouldn't worry about that small a change. you'll get used to it fast. not much you can do if there's no weights to take out.
It may even be a blessing for OP's game. A heavier cue took me some getting used to, but I prefer it since I made the changeover.

CB control and ball pocketing can be much easier to do with a heavier cue, I think.

No secrets here, no weight bolt so either cut stuff off the cue or use a lighter shaft. Doubt it's going to be worth the hassle for you though.
Lift weights 10 mins a day, you'll be a bit stronger, cue will feel lighter LOL

It’s about 15.5 now. Would like it to be around 15.2
Remove but-cap
insert cue-butt in lathe using plastic shims on the noses of the jaws
use dial indicator to center butt in jaws of chuck
take 1/4" aircraft drill--or choose drill that will not remove weight bolt threads
spin lathe about 1000 RPM
drill about 1" deeper through where the weight bolt would have been
remove from lathe
blow out newly drilled hole
install but-cap.

Thanks buddy. Not sure if 1" of mapel inside is enough for 15.5 to 15.2. Cus mapel is so light you know. And not sure if it is good to the cue to dig too deep inside

Thanks guys for all the advices! I'm mainly concerning for the balance as well. I am thinking about change the steel pin to a lighter one such as G10 or aluminum maybe. Will changing pin material affect the feel and the sound of the cue very much? I kind of like the stiff feel of the steel pin, so I dont want it to be very soft if that could be led by using other material of pin...

A lighter shaft, which will shift the balance point aft a bit would help, especially if it feels tip heavy. Beyond that, probably just buy a cue that feels better.

It could change the feel. But if you use titanium you should not notice any difference.
