Dr. Dave Chalk shootout😃

But if you want what Syberts call premium chalk, the super Chalk should last long time.

I buy my beer at Trader Joe’s, $6.99/12 pack.
TJ's wine and beer ain't bad for the $$. Still put AnchorSteam above them. life's too short for a steady diet of cheap booze.

Well I heard in News today, they are projecting shortages of Crown Royal, Billet Bourbon & other spirits.

Covid related.🤮

Friend use to say two type of gamblers.

LOOSERS.

LIERS.

No one always wins, except maybe house.
Back in the day, when casino blackjack tables used fewer decks, card counters could indeed make a living playing 21. But, the problem with ‘gambling’ as a profession, is, after all the effort expended learning the ‘trade’, once you are recognized as a consistent winner, the casinos merely ban/lock you out. Doesn’t matter whether you are cheating, or just exceptionally skilled. And (especially before the large corporations took over the Vegas casinos from the mob), sneaking in after being banned could prove quite dangerous.

A cube of Masters last me 14-15 months and costs $0.40/cube when I bought my last dozen.

Premium chalk would have to last a decade to be worth what they are charging.

Well your getting your monies worth out of your Chalk.

Don’t think Toam Chalk is going to hurt Master Chalk sales.

After reading all of the hype about Taom V10, I was just about to order a box from the manufacturer.
Then I realized if I kept the whole box, the chalk would outlive me based on all the claims being made.

Gosh, that meant my heirs would be squabbling about who gets a new cube and how many. It took me
awhile to figure out how my cues are bequeathed to my kids so I’m better off sticking with what I’ve got.

But you could resell it for a profit, and pay for your Super Chalk.

I use masters chalk ,when I am playing and chalk regularly no miscues.Practicing I forget to chalk and I miscue..It works fine if you use it.

This obviously is just my opinion but here goes. I use chalking as the key action in my pre-shot routine.

Using a pre-shot routine calms your emotions, and helps affirm your position map, whatever you prefer
to think of it as. It prevents walking from shot to shot and unintentionally becoming casual with even an
easy shot. Incorporating a pre-shot routine allows a player to zone out distractions away from the table &
even your opponent doesn’t even matter any more. It is just you and the table as you proceed to gather
your thoughts & emotions evaluating the shot before you and where you want to cue ball to wind up. You
walk the table the same way, tough cut shots are viewed from the pocket just to be sure you have the right
OB path in mind and you rhythmically breathe collecting your thoughts. You assume your shooting stance
being mindful of your bridge length as you slide your bridge hand into position instead of plopping it down
where you think it should be. You don’t begin a practice stroke until your head/chin is slotted over the cue
and you use the same number of practice strokes. If you start using more, just stand up and reset again. The
key to success is consistency so do your best to do it the same way every time. You don’t have to become
maniacal about this but do try to be as consistent as you can without this becoming a forced act. I’ve done
the same thing for so long it’s a ritual that I follow on every shot. I don’t even think about it. I just do the same
thing every time. And if I don’t, it feels odd like something is wrong. So that’s my take on chalking that’s become
part of my pre-shot routine on every shot. I even brush the chalk on my cue tips the same way (L-R) rotating
the cube. I use a leather chalk pouch that really simplifies chalking on every shot too. A pre-shot routine works.

What if you're playing sets or a tournament for a lot of $$ and the fact that your cue ball is cleaner keeps your game ball from skidding on you and costing the match? What was the chalk worth now?

Well, you have no control over what chalk your opponent uses so you have to deal with chalk marks on the cue ball that your opponent creates. And you can’t clean the cue ball during the game being played. And Taom chalk doesn’t prevent that from occurring. Further, he intends to use Master chalk that performed more than satisfactorily. So when only 1 player is using Taom, the chalk marks on the cue ball and influence on the shot is unavoidable. That’s just something that’s going to happen.
