I'm sure they will be along any minute now...Come on all you professional pool table mechanics, answer this man's question! Or do you need MY help first?
Careful Glenn, ambush likely,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Come on all you professional pool table mechanics, answer this man's question! Or do you need MY help first?
Ok Lou, I guess I'm going to have to ask you a few questions. First, is this a 3 piece or 1 piece slate? What size, 9ft? ProAm or Professional?Put another way, after new cloth has been put on, is there enough play in the bolting system of a Diamond that the frame could be installed a little off-kilter and the pocket shelf on a couple of pockets end up slightly off center?

And that right there is some of my point about those posting here, what have they taught the class of viewers? I post answers so that others will learn, including the so called mechanics that post here.I've already gotten a couple of private replies from people that don't want to deal with a potential argument.
Still interested in what you have to say if you want to post it.

The only reason to post in private is to either hide being wrong, or afraid to show what they DO know.
The question is, did the answers you recieve, give you the information you needed to correct the problem, and if so, why not share it with the class as well?
If I NEVER posted the information I've contributed to AZB, how far along with these table mechanics be today?
That's why I don't really bother with showing pictures of my completed work, because that's not what separates my work from everyone else's work. It's what I do differently that others learn from, not the things hidden in pictures!
This is why, other than the pictures I've already posted, I may not do any more follow up reviews on this new cloth I'm introducing in the market place, that way they have to do their own research on the cloth, and more than lively still refuse to change.
What I do know, is that since I've decided to go back to recovering pool tables, starting with the Pocket in Boise, ID I've already had 53 bars and taverns in the Boise area put their name and phone number on the list to contact me at the pocket, and 4 more pool halls, 1 in Twin Falls, 1 in Idaho Falls, 1 in Missoula, and 1 in Winnemucca all throw in their names and phone numbers to get on my list of work! And that only took 6 weeks to accomplish from the day I recovered to first table at the Pocket.
Now you know why I didn't answer your questions, because you talk out the side of your neck! Many do not care to post here anymore because in your mind you are "the unassailable authority."
That might be OK to you, but in asserting your knowledge and experience, trashing everyone else as you go, many, many members are tired of it. So it's not that people don't want to share, it's that they don't want share and have you come over the top, claim you are the Grand Poobah of table mechanics, AND THEN torch whatever they've said. You have no couth in this regard.
So yes, I got the info I needed. And I'd be happy to share but for the same reasons others have here -- and the fact that you broke a prior agreement we had -- all leads me to not waste the time with you. You are an arrogant SOB. And coming from me that's saying a lot.

And since you're NEW to the mechanic's forum, just so you're aware I give out compliments to the mechanic's that earn them, as well as non-mechaincs who've taken the time to learn the right way of doing things, and have even chimed in with their advice! Brad, Jack, Jay, Zach, Sheldon, there's quite a few guys working on pool tables, and doing so the right way! They don't have to do their work exactly like I do, its OKAY to be different, as long as the tables they work on turn out right! But if anyone that works on pool tables thinks they deserve to be considered to be a professional just because they work on pool tables, that's where it gets to crossing the line without having earned the right to do so, and yep, I'll say something about it, you bet I will!!! I WILL call them out to post up pictures of their work just to prove it as well, but everyone i mentioned has done so already, because THEY have nothing to hide, and no worry of me coming down on them! Many do not care to post here anymore because in your mind you are "the unassailable authority."

You Lou, on the other hand, support lies that anyone TELLS you to support, like pocket sizes!!!
Clearly NOT a stock 5" corner pocket as claimed by you!
He aint gonna ever listen. He can't shut up: and that is coming from a motormouth! How or why would I claim them to be stock pockets when I *repeatedly* said it was a GC3 that had been in storage and the rails had to be redone?
Anywhos, I got what I needed here. Thanks to those involved, you know who you are.

Question is, why was the slate not centered on the cross members in the first place? Had it been, and done right, this subject would have never came up!How or why would I claim them to be stock pockets when I *repeatedly* said it was a GC3 that had been in storage and the rails had to be redone?
