Dynaspheres Platinum vs. Palladium...

Dynaspheres pool ball sets seem to come in two flavors:
Group 1 has "Palladium", "Rhodium", "Titanium", "Chromium", and "Vandium" as their style names.
Group 2 has "Platinum", "Gold", "Silver", "Bronze", and "Tungsten".

Someone told me the group 1 sets are the "Chinese sets". My understanding is that BOTH groups are manufactured in China.

Are they from the same factory?
Is one or the other a superior quality product?
Is one or the other a "Fake" or "Knock Off" of the actual product?
If so, WHICH group is the original and real / trademarked product?

All are made in China. They have different designs for different markets ie. Asia, Europe, US. Same balls just different designs.
 
I have bought a bunch of sets of these, they can't be beat for the price. Nothing comes close. Dynasphere Bronze.

You'll be done with it with these too. Add the CB you like and you're still all in at under 175bux. One of the bigger rooms in Phoenix,Mainstreet, switched to this set and everyone loves them. A friend goes there and he says they stay cleaner than the old Aramiths they replaced. Easily one of the best buys in pool right now. Still 110-115bux on-line for the Bronze set.

But the real question is what will the kookoocowboy say about them.

I always thought for the price differences they must be made of different quality, but after playing with the cheapest to the most expensive, I can't tell the difference. And the funky colors on the cheapest set are a big draw in pool halls, it's the only time I had people dragging their friends over to my table to show them the set I was using. One thing is the cueball seems to pick up dirt and marks easily than the Aramith ones, but a simple swap of the cueball makes that a moot point, and still cheap. The case and a single measle cue ball I bought to go with my $70 set of Dynaspheres cost more than the full set of balls LOL

The Bronze is a simple set without a bunch of un-needed inlays and that keeps the price down. Those Tungstens are just butt-ugly imo. Pay a few more bux for the Bronze.
 
I own the "Tungsten" set. I really like the colors. They look very retro / 1920's. I got them for $50.00 new. Best set for the money I have ever owned in terms of quality and playability.

Today I found a set of "Palladium" which is the highest end set of the "China" styles. (The other "Belgian design" sets top style is called Platinum.) They were for sale by the U.S. Importer who usually sells them for $399 these days, but in this set, the flimsy plastic tray inside the box got destroyed in shipping. The box and the balls are pristine! He let them go for $200.00 I can't wait to get them later this week and see if this group plays the same or different from the Tungstens. I will report back...

On what planet do you think they'll play any different?? They're all made in same factory with same machines. Your ball fetish may require professional help. ;)
