John Schmidt- live 14.1

I haven't read any of the posts but I have been watching and this is not very compelling, almost unwatchable. I can't put my finger on exactly what is wrong but it is a real sleeper.

The one pocket ghost is terrible, i had to turn it off. Will have to see what happens tomorrow with the bigger pockets.

John is miked up.
You don't like his commentary?
I found it very interesting.
I do admire his stamina and his abilities.

Miked up, yea comments like,
" I hit that one fatter then my first wife"
The commentary is, let's face it, bad.
The one pocket makes no sense at all the way they are doing it. Who is this meant to appeal to?

That seems a tad low to me, if he aims to be in 700-territory four days from now.
The table is very tough. No one on the planet is running 4 or 5 hundred on that table. 3 hundred would be amazing.

I don't know about what the next table will be like but I notice the balls are not opening like they did on Shaws table. May be the balls or cloth but he has some hard racks to get through.

I found the run of 119 or 18 as described, interesting. I was pleasantly surprised. I had hit on the YouTube video and expected to just take a glance. The straight pool skill was impressive. Kind of a contrast to what I felt in the brief look at Shaw playing on the gaffed table.
The part that was unappealing was the words John provided. At least during the play.
My assessment would be, if he wears a mike like the tour guide....... improve the presentation. Dress well like a steward and speak well. Hmmmm, that was a success for me driving cab in Reno. I made good tips.👍😉

I think the setup is nicer than the Chamberlain event, and the event is run better.

I'm never a fan of two commentators at the same time. Usually too much babbling, although I liked Nick Varner and Mick Hill/Chris Melling at the Molinari Classic. Some people like John throwing in comments, and feel that it makes it more like watching and listening to someone at the pool hall. Doesn't matter to me. The comments might be more interesting as the event progresses.

I'd prefer a perma-rack, but understand why they didn't

As for the GoFundMe, I understood it wasn't for John Schmidt, but was to cover the costs of hosting the event.

I enjoyed the one pocket drills.
I enjoy watching him play.
It's easy to put 15 balls in one pocket.
Quite a drill.
How often to you go 8 and out or 7 and out or 6 and out for that matter?

My point was, that is a standard one pocket proposition. He should be doing numbers in say sets of 5 breaks. As he is doing it it has no meaning. He is not establishing a number to shoot for.

On 182. New event high run.

I didn’t hear the reason why he wasn’t using one of the template racks. Surely they open better and are more consistent. Did anyone hear from the horse’s mouth?

199 and got stuck in the pack on a secondary break shot. Run over.

Commentators said John ran over 1000 consecutive balls split between 2 consecutive innings without a miss. The first inning ended on a scratch. I don’t recall that, does anyone? Did he have a 375 plus right before the record run of 626?

John's high today on the Predator table was 89. So he had two 100+ runs in the two days, both yesterday -- 126 and 119.
My lifetime high run on 4.25 inch pockets is only 90 in solitary practise and 71 in a match and he runs 100 + every time he picks up his cue. These pros really are at a completely different level.
