Would like to reduce the high gloss finish. Would 600 grit sandpaper work towards a semi gloss finish on the carbon fiber shaft

From a retailers website:

CYNERGY CARE & MAINTENANCE

Maintaining the Cuetec Cynergy shaft’s finish.
Cuetec Cynergy carbon composite shafts must never be sanded or modified. Using any abrasive on the surface of the shaft will damage the shaft’s finish and possibly weaken the shaft’s carbon fiber filaments and discharge potentially harmful materials that could be hazardous to your health. Any polishing, sanding or treatment of the surface of the shaft with abrasives or chemicals of any kind will void the shaft’s warranty.
Never use baby powder, hand chalk, talcum powder or other shaft treatments on a Cuetec Cynergy carbon fiber composite shaft.
To clean the surface of your Cuetec Cynergy carbon composite shaft, you will need just a few materials; Isopropyl Alcohol (75% or higher) and two (2) clean and debris-free soft cloth towels.
Step 1. Remove any dust and debris by wiping the shaft with a soft clean cloth.
Step 2. Apply a reasonable amount Isopropyl Alcohol (75% or higher) to a clean, soft cloth towel. Next, work the towel up and down the length of the shaft, while rotating your hand around its circumference. It is possible that dirt will be visible on the towel. This is completely normal. Continue working the shaft with the same motion until all areas have been thoroughly wiped, then allow a few moments for the surface to dry.

Along with what Nick B said::

If I were to "sand" a CF shaft, I would start with 1500 grit (maybe even 2000 grit). All you want to do is to remove ¼-½ micron of surface gloss. and use water to lubricate the strokes. 600 is way to "gritty" and will cut excessively deep.

Also note: there are now metric versions of "sand paper" around P600 is equivalent to normal 400 grit (which makes reading sand paper even harder than it used to be.)

Edited to add:
Also note: sanding to get rid of the surface gloss is to be performed no more than once.

Most carbon fiber shafts do not have a high gloss finish – I’ve never seen one. No, I would never use sandpaper on a carbon fiber shaft, not even 3000 grit. 80% or 90% isopropyl alcohol dabbed on a cloth should be all you need to wipe your carbon fiber shaft down with, to remove any stickiness.

CF shafts come with 3 finishes that I know of.............. a gray shinny paint.... a matt finish........ and no finish.................... I you totally mess up the finish............ just wet sand all the finish off.............. I buy my blanks with no finish.......... I sand them length wise with 400 paper and wax them............ super smooth satin feel ...................... BTW.. I will not put a tip on a CF shaft with a finish on it.......... too easy to mess up and then find out that some sucker paid $500 dollars for it
