If you sell, be prepared to hear the sad song of many a goofball lowballer bemoaning that the cue will need a refinish and new shafts and how much South West will charge for the work that they may or may not be accepting at the moment.

Ignore the entitled they haven't earned respect
Market is set by buyer, price they are willing to pay.

Cues have not appreciated like they were doing years ago.
That mentality is for desperate sellers and scammer buyers and has no bearing on a Jerry Franklin or David Kersenbrock pre 1996 SW cue. I know 3 buyers that would pay 5k for this as long as everything is straight and it is authenticated pre 96' with a LOA by Laurie.

Sell is free to ask for a price, if they get their price great.

Sometimes buyer negotiate better price then sellers asking.

You are the epitome of your Einstein quote.

Well if you under stood supply, and demand you would understand how market set prices.

Too bad you like most do not have magic prediction ball, or ability to predict future.

If you did you could be rich overnight.

Know lotto number in future, what horse or dog will run first, or number that will appear on dice before they get rolled.

you should have bought a meucci
You must be kidding. A hand made, no CNC, no computer hand made cue by Ned Morris sometimes becomes available. Ned is among (in my opinion, the best) cue maker ever. I suppose you've got to handle one to know. His cues are the players cues with exquisite workmanship. If you have not handled one of his cues, or played with one please spare me what you might think.

Well this is subjective observation at best, give a novice banger, a Meucci, Southwest , Ned Morris or 30K Black Boar monster,

Bet the banger will still be a banger.

Markets are created by buyers and sellers.

Equilibrium is the point at which a trade occurs. It’s not a static thing, it’s dynamic
What you wrote is exactly correct. I just wish someone could design a test where a Fargo 700+ player could try cues of hidden different makers and choose the best hitting cue of the bunch. But, then I even wonder if the ten year waiting list cue maker came in last, if it would change anything. Probably not, hitting horribly would not change the value. I ordered two cues from Franklin in the middle 80's. They are in the closet. It just not matter how a cue plays. The "waiting list" has pool folks wanting to get in. See what I play with below.
