"Mutton Chops" - Jill Hawk Cue Case

This project really turned into something unique! Built to suit, the customer explained he was looking for something different. Right off the bat, we were shooting to pay tribute to the traditional leg o' Mutton shotgun cases....

These are often paired with an ammunition pouch, so the separate pocket was an easy choice. In addition, he was hoping for a fabric lining in the pocket to conceal a few league patches.

By turning the back panel onto the side of the case, we were able to utilize the seam in creating the esthetic.

This case is handstitched and handcarved of premium Spanish veg-tan around a 2 x 4 JB Ultrapad interior. Tight fitting lid is lined with real wool which we felt in the shop.

The 7" x 3.5" pocket has double magnet fasteners and both flaps are lined with linen.

Short version: great folks, great case, couldn't be happier. I like to think that in a world of Corvette and Ferrari custom cases, they've built me an Aston Martin (a shooting brake at that). Pure class.
