UPS ground... shipping a case and 2 cues. Bad Mistake? 2 days to destination. I'm not concerned with packaging damage unless someone goes out of their way to destroy the package. Cost around $35 for 2 day ground. A little over a $100 for 2nd day air that might get handled better. Is there a better option? USPS is out of the question. Good and horror stories welcome.
Edit. Shipping cues only

I've had 2 cues and a JB case shipped from the New Jersey to me in NB Canada by USPS and all three arrived here fairly quick and in great shape, no damage at all. Why is USPS not an option? UPS may be a good option within the country but are horrible when crossing the border as they charge an a brokerage fee onto of everything else.

Oversize surcharge would be one reason.

I do not ship Federal Express, or United Parcel Service as they do not sell or provide DECLARED VALUE INSURANCE.

Think
I am pulling your keg, call or go to Ups, Fed-X and ask If they insurance, and if so how it works.

UNITED STATE POSTAL SERVICE does Priority Mail, that is we try for 2-3 days. NO GUARANTEE.

EXPRESS MAIL IS GUARANTEED OVER NIGHT SERVICE.

USPS sell real insurance should a misadventure happen up to 40K.

Have something of big value REGISTERED MAIL is ticket.

The faster the item moves thru the U.S. Postal System, the less chance of mishaps.

Packages that travel cross country in 2 days involves handoffs within the postal
system. Every time the item leaves a location or arrives at the next location, it gets
scanned. Since the package moves so quickly from location to location, it receives
immediate handling in order for the item to travel cross country to its final destination
within 48 hrs. That requires quick handling and so it receives closer attention that does
usps ground service. There is proof of delivery as well which helps minimize problems.

USPS doesn't really sell declared value insurance either, it is more an actual cash value insurance unless something has changed. For example if you have a $100 item and insure it for $5,000 and it gets lost, they are only going to pay you $100 (this is stipulated in the policy you purchase if you read it) so it never makes sense to pay for more insurance than your item is actually worth. You also generally need to be able to prove the value of your item in a way that is acceptable to them (they list some examples of the types of proof they accept on the website) and they may not just take your word for it.

Not looking for cheap. Looking for no aggravation. Passing on shipping the case for now. The 2 cues total less than $1000.
No need to explain why USPS is out.
BTW…. I learned how to print UPS labels. Using UPS Store, Pak Mail, Staples … prices are close to 50-100% higher. I print and take to a UPS drop off. Going with UPS… thanks for replies

Well, that was a waste of time.

What was? Was kicking things around. Never used Fedx.. wanted some feedback. I did learn how to self use UPS and love it. I’m using heavy duty HomeDepot boxes.
I got a 6/6/48” box from UPS store. It’s 5 star thin. Calling it junk is being generous. Would not ship a case in it. Where can a good quality 6-6-48 box be found if I decide to ship
a case?

No longer use USPS- fee surcharges on cues and cases as well as a tracking system that is totally useless at least 50% of the time. As we speak I am waiting for some shafts mailed to me via USPS 3 days ago- from the tracking info - I now have NO IDEA where those shafts are located right now- unacceptable!

I have been using Fed EX since April 2022- I have found the tracking flawless, and the pricing fair in today's market - They now have offices everywhere to drop off your shipments and you will know where it is every single day.

The government is the worst option for anything where they have commercial competition, from my life's experience.

Could be. The shipping cost to canada from New Jersey was 47.00 and I believe he told me he could ship within the us for right around 20 to 25
For Canada to New Jersey, can you just walk to the line and hand it to them.

USPS… gets there but it’s a mystery. Sometimes says it’s delivered but still in transit.

use a thick cb tube then put that in a triangular box. i've use all the common shippers and have never had an issue with any. well, one UPS store charged me fkng 'gravel road fee' because the maker had a gravel driveway. no shit. really happened. lol.

Funny as Fk. I got the same $5.00 fee because the receiver was on a hill in the woods. The UPS Store is good for prepaid labels… drop off only.

Seybert’s has the best shipping tubes on the planet. If you bought from them you know that.
