Thank you so much for posting this!

BTW... Fat Boy... I am having a GREAT deal of difficulty discerning the 6 from the 8 on this broadcast! Should we make the 6 ball some shade of purple?

How does the scoring work? I see a match between Katie Cool and Aleksa P where Aleksa won 4-2, she is in the winner side of the bracket and Katie is in the losers side. Just under it is Tyler, he is up 6-0 and his match is still going.

The venue looks great. So much so, that I booked a last minute trip to go and have a look at it all. Plus it's a good excuse to have a sneaky mojito or two. :)

wow! yea nah, not jealous at all.. expecting snow on friday and really looking forward to switching to snow wheels on the cars..

I believe it is player input own score so they must be unfamiliar and incorrectly keyed in racks score. When they should key in sets score with shootout considered the 3rd set- so player who wins 2 sets is 2-0 while if there is shootout score will be 2-1
Aleksa is a boy. Interestingly, the odd one out is Katie Cool who is playing in men's event when there is also women's event going on. Not sure what the regulations are -maybe the men's event is considered the open event so any female who is not WPBA cannot play in women's event and has to play in the men's event :)

The bracket page is a mess in general but it's especially bad on mobile devices.

Delighted to see the reemergence of YL Chang in international competition and wish him the best of luck.

Filler just scratched with ball in hand, completely missing the object ball in the process. Even the pros can mess up BIH

The interminable and ultimately useless commentary during the shootouts, in which commentators try to make a great distinction between the spot shot from the left side and the one from the right side, brings to mind the TV commercial for a very popular candy bar called Twix.

In the commercial, Twix eaters are asked whether they prefer the right Twix or the left Twix? Of course, the two are identical, but that's the joke, and it nearly always makes me laugh on the grounds of its absurdity.

Seems I don't laugh when asked to compare the two spot shots. Guess it's just me. In fairness to the commentators, there isn't much they can say when the same shot is attempted eight times in a row, but they always chime in with "this is a big shot" or "this is a big match" or "this might be his preferred side of the table" or "you could feel the momentum swing on that shot". Silence would make for far better commentary as the scoreboard tells you everything you need to know.

The commentators' inability to say anything interesting about the spot shot shootouts are Exhibit A for how boring and pointless they are.
