Morra has beat Oscar twice (25-12 and 25-21) in the last few months for decent amounts.Didn't he recently rob Oscar?
Too bad Canada is excluded from the Mosconi Cup. They would do well to replace Oscar and SVB with Morra and Pagulayan.

I can remember Karl making a comment as such, along with one or 2 other Euros maybe in interviews or during a match or something, say pretty much the same thing.... that Albin gets good rolls in critical points in some match. I can think of at least 2 times although I can't tell you when... but one was most definitely Karl. It's not like the Joliet guy just made it up himself lolLOL, you're talking about a certain future BCA hall of famer who was won many difficult titles, including 2 WPA World 9-championships, 2 World Cups of Pool, the China Open, the International Open, the Matchroom European 9-ball, the European 14.1 and Euro-tour titles. Albin is the only player I can think of in recent memory that defended at a major tourney, winning back-to-back at Matchroom's Premier League Pool event.
The suggestion that Albin has a history of "good rolls" that get him over the finish line in big spots is not well researched. All the greats have had occasions on which good luck helped them out along with the times where bad luck cost them, but as Irving Crane famously noted: "you may not get half the luck today, but over a pool lifetime you'll get half the luck."
I think I've conceded this point, noting that luck has helped him at times and hurt him at others.I can remember Karl making a comment as such, along with one or 2 other Euros maybe in interviews or during a match or something, say pretty much the same thing.... that Albin gets good rolls in critical points in some match. I don't think it "cheapens" any wins nor do I think that was implied. All I was saying is that apparently it happens enough for his buds to give him a little grief about it in a fun loving way. I haven't seen it either but I heard them say it. So there's that. No need to concede any point, just talking here. Have a good day Mr sjm.I think I've conceded this point, noting that luck has helped him at times and hurt him at others.
Wonder if Karl feels the same about SVB. In case you care, SVB had "pool-god-given" help in the double hill rack of the 2012 Derby City 9-ball final. At double hill, John Morra played what seemed a perfect kick-and-stick-safety, leaving the cue ball buried under a ball on the short rail, and SVB looked dead.
Moments later, however, at a truly freakish angle, the object ball went into the side-pocket and it was John who was hopelessly snookered. This roll decided the match and the title. After the match, I told Morra that it was the worst roll I'd ever seen in the double hill rack of a final.
Even the greatest of champions get fluky wins from time to time, but in no way does it cheapen their competitive resumes. A well-meaning poster suggested that Albin is habitually lucky, and I'm not buying it.
Then we're of one mind. Thanks for your reply.I don't think it "cheapens" any wins nor do I think that was implied. That's taking it too far. You don't exclude your best player.Morra has beat Oscar twice (25-12 and 25-21) in the last few months for decent amounts.

You do when he has a losing recordThat's taking it too far. You don't exclude your best player.
Guy's been rolling good his whole life. First he has looks and what comes along with that. Then he has a super hot sister who brings her (likely hot) friends around and all that comes along with that. Some ppl are habitually lucky. I can attest to this bc I have been absurdly lucky my entire life. And in pool, I roll almost as good as Albin does.A well-meaning poster suggested that Albin is habitually lucky, and I'm not buying it.
It is kind of sad when you actually think about it- a guy playing with his weak hand is a stronger player than at least one of the MC participants!Didn't he recently rob Oscar?
Thanks for sharing that. Good fortune comes in many forms, and I'm glad to learn that you appreciate what you've gotten on your journey in life.Guy's been rolling good his whole life.
