I was cleaning a storage cabinet at home and found an unfinished butt that was constructed in 2008, the cue maker did not finish the cue as it has slight warp. He gave me the butt and I stored it since then. The butt already has the pin and is the butt is 1 mm oversize. I want to finish cue as I have an extra shaft that would fit. Not so keen on sending it to a cue maker as this would most likely be seldom used as it is a plain jane with mac ebony handle, butt sleeve with a maple burl handle. I sanded the butt down using a "DIY" lathe using a hand drill
I got it to about 0.5mm from the ideal dimensions using 180 and 240 grade sandpaper. From this point on what grades of sandpaper do I use to get it to ideal size and prep it for spray painting using a clear can spray?
