NYC Pool Players Developing Olympic Pool Format

I'm curious about something, why do you think the New York City pool scene needs saving? There's plenty of rooms, tours in the area and there is always an APA affiliate running a weekend tournament.

No pool player I know in that area bothers with snooker, 3 cushion or pyramid because it's not their game. Same goes the other way unless you are someone like Kang Lee who plays 3C and pool at a high level.

So again, what exactly is there that needs to be saved?

Youth exposure to cue sports.

Creating a pyramid champion should be easy with a small field.

Carom is not as small but still a champion can be made.

Geographically serving players in those areas by giving them champion titles is a goal.

You could probably fit all the Americans who have even heard of Russian Pyramid in one pool room. What is it that leads you to believe that it's a future Olympic cue sport when it's not even included in the World Games?

There is about to be a surge of investment in certain parts of Europe. If the seed can be planted now it might grow organically.

Pyramid was the entry for Fedor. There is a chance others can benefit.

The X games included bmx and skateboarding. They are now olympic sports. Youth will need sports and Pyramid could be rebranded. My attempt is a start.

Has there ever been a better time to promote a Russian culture? Everyone loves Russia right now!
Can you call it Buryat Pyramid or Turkish Pyramid?

Have you even been to Boardwalk Billiards on a busy night for the pyramid tables?

From Justnums safety security box, so this is all funded the same way he was going to back Dan Harriman:

@sjm
Sorry to see you get sucked into one of Justnum's thread.
Don't waste your valuable time, he just trolls, posts fake challenges and has been caught lying as much as George Santos.

Sat in the corner sipping a Busch Light watching guys play a game he never heard of on a table he didn't recognize...now he's a historian and going to save it...for the children.

Getting The Olympics involved is, IMO, a huge mistake.
The Olympics has always added & removed venues for competition.

IMO if pool were added I believe the shot clock be set at, for say, 10 seconds.
BREAK and watch balls roll and plan your next move before they stop.
RUN if you must around the table but you have 10 sec to hit the cue ball.
More misses will occur which adds to the excitement.

As for finals, the shot clock could be set at 7 seconds.
NOW WE'RE MOVING and the heart & brain gets some exercise.

At least this will be much more exciting than base(yawn)ball in the Olympics.

Pinch shooting in pool could be fun. A jump specialists, bank specialists, carom specialist, masse specialist. Pool can have a big bench and that makes it a team sport. Players specialize in racking.

Politics/high finance maybe. Pyramid wouldn't be my choice though of Russian or indeed any kind of Olympic worthy achievement.
There's seems to be no game to Pyramid. Two basic shots: straight in ducks and half ball caroms, banged in at high velocity. No wonder Gorst switched to pool.

How much budget is needed to experiment with what I am suggesting?

Carom Cafe one night a month for 3 cushion.
Boardwalk Billiards one night a month for pyramid.
Rotate pool rooms for eight ball one night a month.

Three nights of pool a month to start the ACS League: All Cue Sport League.
Players pay their own green fees. I can pocket costs for corporate status if the trial goes well.

ACS League does not need sanctioning from WCBS. ACS will operate as an independent organization. The purpose of the league is to drive up demand for carom and pyramid equipment.

If successful it will be a player owned and managed organization.
I look forward to any new ideas from you Redhawk PI, I am certain you will help to build a solid foundation for the future of Billiards.

Will u travel to MO? DO u play One Pocket or Bank? I like westerns involving Pool matchups, my offer is probly just something for nothing - everythin has it's place.

We used to play a game we called Backwards Billiards that I found out later was basically pyramid.

Fun gaff game to help you practice caroms.
