Pool players should maybe use a compound taper; one that quickly increases to a long pool taper. I've not got around to this but I think tapering the ferrule alone would at least get the tip size into spec. One of my shafts has a 12mm ElkM sized down with the fiber pads alone from a 13 mm ferrule. The tip hits like a 12 (whatever that means) and the stick strokes like a 13 - both of which they are lol...

It's hard to sync up with the player's schedules, especially if they want to go for more than a few days.
In truth, I know some pros have expressed the sentiment that 700 is a bit of a tough nut to chew on, so there's that. As to a dedicated web site, that's what the Legends FB page is about. If you scroll down a bit you'll note Bobby is getting close to launching a Black Widow women's 14.1 high run event, tied in with cancer awareness, that'll be pretty interesting.

Well, I think maybe the manufacturers have sold all the carbon fiber they can... so maybe conical 8ball tapers will now become the rage.

I think the conical taper makes sense only with strict snooker technique. With that 'perfect' pendulum stroke, the taper keeps the tip from diving completely into the cloth. A standard Gorstian pool stroke would probably suffer.
I've been playing some pool with a carom shaft (it is an American taper, not truly conical like traditional carom cues and not a pool taper, like a Revo) and I do feel it is easier to play a soft/ smooth style vs. when I try that with a pool cue.
And I know of another uses a Chinese 8b cue for pool.
