Thanks for the advice. I’ll keep that in mind.If you face the ferrule carefully with a razor blade, the amount taken off is so minuscule, you could probably do it 50 times before any noticeable amount was removed.
I thoroughly agree. But with a lot of new cues the ferrule is only 1/2 inch or less, and with some people always wanting to try a new tip, I can change a lot of tips before reaching the ferrule. Just trying to err on the side of caution. If you face the ferrule carefully with a razor blade, the amount taken off is so minuscule, you could probably do it 50 times before any noticeable amount was removed.
I think that Predator uses a soft ferrule on its Revo and they use the pad so the tip stays on because without it the tip has give and the soft ferrule has give and the pad doesn’t.Seeking feedback from this platform about whether installing a pad between tip and the ferrule is beneficial or extraneous.
Where do you source the CF pads? I'd like to try one.I use a carbon fiber pad on any expensive natural materials.

America lookout if your CDs come up missing look at the end of my pool stick maybe you'll recognize itIt was posted on here a few times that CDs and DVDs make fine pads. Just get a 5/8 or 9/16 plug drill and have at it.
Seyberts has them for 23 cents each. 30 cents each at Kamikaze, but they have a better color selection.Where do you source the CF pads? I'd like to try one.

nice! was about to order some g10 red sheet 1/32. itd be easier/more conveinent if pred would sell the red phenolic pads and or if mullers wasnt out of carbon fiber pads. but if u can make ur own, even better!I use .015 thick black paper phenolic pad.
Never liked the vulcanized paper.
Only use 1MM thick cf pad for breakers.
Too thick for my taste.
