Hey was curious which tip is better...
tiger emerald green OR Pechauer Jade

Thanks for any input
Totally different tips afaik. Tiger E's are made from left over pieces. Good tip btw if you like a firm hit. Don't know anything about P's tip. Not the same tho. P's tip comes in three hardnesses, the Tiger only med-hard. Here's my best 'tip': please refrain from the 'what's the best tip' questions. ;)

I didn't ask what was the best ' tip ' I asked which one was best out of the two. But I got a good tip for ya.. next time you drop your chalk 😂. And as a matter of fact I am searching for tips strictly by color. I can shoot with ANY tip...but I'm putting together a cue that is shoots well and is visually appealing from the TIP to the BUTT CAP... I'll show it to you guys when I sell it to you... right after I put my green tip on it 😉

You asked which of two was better, so, which is best. You did not ask an opinion based on color.

Should the color be judged on matching cloth or chalk? Oops, no, it has to do with an unshown cue.

Brought this on yourself.

Depends on too many things::
your cue
your stroke
your preferences
AND
Say you bought a box (12) of one of these tips. There is a good chance that 1 in that box your bought will play identically with 1 from a box of the tips you did not buy.

I can't speak for the PJ, but I have an emerald on one of my cynergy shafts.
I have tried over a dozen tips on these shafts and the emerald ranks in the top 4.
I like it.

I know it wasn't your question, but none of these tips are popular, and for a reason. It's best to go with an established tip like Kamui, Victory, G2 or Zan.

They aren't as popular as Kamui because Kamui spends 10x what other brands pay on advertising.
People who don't know any better go with name recognition.
To call Tiger "not established" is a bit of a stretch.

Been playing with the tiger emerald for about 5 years now. Never had any problems whatsoever and i like the hit. Although they are going up in price like everything else.

No shit. This guy is kinda clueless. His comments on tip shape and now this this are kinda wacky. Tiger is very well established in both the cue and tip fields.

You're clueless! In Europe I haven't heard anyone using Tiger. I don't think most tip installers even carry them. I'm a member of a a few cue buying and selling pages and when they list the specs, I haven't seen anyone say that the tip is Tiger. You may have a preference, but I was stating facts.

I'm not a fan of the victory. Zan pretty good and haven't tried g2 yet but heard great things. ki tech from outsville is great, haven't tried the techno dud however my local cue maker made some milk duds with elkmaster ( elk - dud or master dud? Lol ) and those were really great btw and hold shape. Basically takes a elk master and turns it into a medium tip... I like thourobred too and they are made in the good ol USA ... it's a toss up between kitech and Thoroughbred. I like kintech better though because it's not a layered tip. Not a layered tip fan but if I have to use one I'd pick thourobred now I know why that guy earlier said don't start tip conversations lol

Just ftr, at one time or another, SVB, Dennis, and Darren played with Tiger tips.
I am surprised Catalin has not heard of the Tiger Sniper, Emerald, or Everest tips.
They are fairly popular.

-Bank on it Have you tried Dawgduds, made by Pooldawg8 here on our board?
I have used them for years and currently have one on my most-used playing shaft.

Joliet, I know the brand and that they come from factory on some cues. I was only saying that the 4 brands that I listed have the largest following for a reason, and they are a safer bet for someone who doesn't know what tip to choose than more niche brands. I hbae also used all 4 and I can talk from experience.

I remember a few weeks back on the periodic "What is the Best Tip" thread someone was pushing the Crical tips that sell on Amazon and eBay for about 5 for $25. I remember being mildly ridiculed when I questioned someone's assessment of "chromatic integrity" being a critical aspect of the game, although maybe a better assessment of them might have been "technicolor insanity". If someone is really into bright tips, they might be worth a try. Please report back and let us know how they play, and whether you missed the chromatic integrity in your game without them.

I disagree, here in the UK. you don't need to look any further than Pro9.co.uk thay, stock all the tiger tips. And every other popular tip out there. I know the sniper tips, were very common at one time. Way back, the emraled were 2 tips for 10.which was great deal. There was a similer offer on the tiger originals Which I think play slightly better.
I never tried the Jade tip.
